how can i make dark templar to attack air?
i've tried to copy the codes in ice where the ground attack and paste it in air attack,
but it didn't work, can anyone tell me how to add air attack to dark templar?

First, make a iscript for the air attack (which you sayd you did)
second, change the units air attack weapon to whatever weapon it attacks with (units.dat)
third, change the weapon targets in weapons.dat for the weapon you want it to use

u should give air weapon to that unit in units.dat with Datedit or Asanl and etc whatever just use anything
basically when unit take Ai/order to attack and then read weapons and that pointed to weapons.dat

and iscript call Actions and used weapon

i already did everthing i need to do in the arsenal (i think) but is the ice part, there
initial ground attack animation and air attack which i copy the exact same code in ground attack and paste it in the air attack part. then i copy the exact same code in repeat ground attack and return to idle ground attack to the repeat air and return to idle air part. i dont know whats wron, it just crack the game when dark tem attack the overlord. i was using neutron flare as dark tem's ground and air weapon. ive changed the attack flag or something to air and ground. so whats the problem?

ADDITION:
btw i cant find dark templar's grp in the unit protoss file either brood or starcraft patch

if u did that and is there all moded files correctly in MPQ, if so then basically..
ur steps does not problem
i dont have idea what ur exact did to ur source

DT grp there is in StarDat.mpq that included in original

another question, is it possible to use fireworks to edit the bmp and convet back to grp? thanks

yeah~! Fireworks can do edit BMP with custom palette, Fireworks is sufficient to
make StarCraft custom Graphics there is quite a little functions to edit GameGraphics,if u know why am i sure about this,
that why is I'm CG designer
so i have been use most favorite Softwares wink.gif

fireworks file ? what do u say about exact format ?
that is about source PNG file ?

Well, However i'm not use Fireworks anymore this now, so that's not installed in my drive
But i could say answer that with searching use Google wink.gif

thanks alot with all those helpful imformation but i just got one last one, do u know any gd retrogp tutorials? and png is the format for fireworks and it wont let me change it to bmp so i can......

Someone should make a better version of RetroGRP...the current do work fine, but I could imagine a much better application around GRPs...:/

right~! , but i'm not use Retro that have bug a little
so i use GRP editor contained in StarDraft SE that is enough to use
in INI, there are allow setting alpha channel and visable/invisable set
and structure of syntax is so simple and easy ~!

that's important point but that is not relevant to me
i break through that problem with Good utility and macro command tools
Acutally ,if come out Grpeditor what support Good GUI, even but that is not big deal
there is many ways to get over bad GUI wink.gif

Well, if you ask me, the very sense of making a GUI is to make it clear and user-friendly. If these principles are not met - the GUI and the program can go to trash, no matter what you may do to "get over bad GUI".

when u got DL a RetroGrp, there is Default palettes (*pal) files to use
and if u read this my tutorial about special palettes in here then u can use and see more multiplicity

i was trying to make a emp shockwave explosion while dtem attack with warpblades, it doesnt have to disable shields.

hm,,,, that would be a lot of cool ,EMP is very cool style effect
if u want got different splendid effect , draw ur imagine with EMP colors and that
make to grp and edit attack action of script then that would be
more fantastic and love that

if u wanna make imagine of ur own, then do like this

1. draw with colors of EMP palette
2. and compile to GRP
3. set that GRP to images.dat
4. write image/sprite overlay or underlay code in Attack Scripts

then would see as like this
