Well, surfing along v5 I came across this discussion...

I hate the god damn rednecks, so much though. With their damn confederate flags. The KKK sucks. These meanies have to stop living in the past (140 years or so?) They just hate minorities. (I was watching this great speech by Sir Un-Wiped Ass, who said he hates NEGROES.. "because they exist..." And he hates jews because.. "they exist..." Guess what, he hates MEXICANS "because... THEY EXIST!!" "

But what I hate just as much? Black people accusing white people of racism for everything they do. If a black dude bumped into another black dude on the street, it's because he wasn't looking at the moment. If a white dude bumps into a black dude, it's because he hates black people, burns crosses, and wears a white mask on weekends.

You, sir, are a racist-ist.

That's right. You HATE racists, racists are people too. They deserve the same respect as the asians and africans that you love so dearly.

I got the idea for that response after watching the Daily Show last night, the idea was that one of their correspondents did the report for that episode on them being discriminated against as a racist.

My question is this, is the world getting so that you can't believe in anythnig openly?
First of all, I actually do believe that you shouldn't seek out a racist and yell at him being a racist, unless he's being really obnoxious about it. But these days they're even changing long established terms for fear of upsetting people. Handi-Capable, Different Life Choices, and Vertically Challenged. We're sacraficing maknig sense for politcal correctness here, people. Is this right.

Just so long as you dont curse at or hurt(insert minority here) people in situations where you would to that to (insert majority here) people, its not that horrible of a thing to be a racist I guess.

At times it seems a little ridiculous - I imagine that a lot of bureaucrats in the public sector with too little to do spend their spare time coming up with politically correct terms to make us all miserable.

I can't really say how bad things are around other places. Since I live in Newton (The capital of Political Correctness) EVERYTHING is being racist. Like describing someone as black or asian is racist, like what the fark? It's a description, not a hate crime. In newton there are normally two kinds of people, the ones who call everything racist, and the ones who got sick of that so they think going around calling people "sand africans" and "chinks" is not racist but a nickname.

As long as there not complaining about anything or being violent it shouldn't matter what they think to other people.

Here is what I don't get about politically corectness: It applies to politicians and civillians.

For some reason I see extreme irony in this.

^ Exactly what I mean. But who cares about complaints? Complaining is human anture.

Racism is stupid, Like black people are just black, and I am white! It's pure as black and white, but they are still people right!

People have this mentality in their head that goes.
"Respect people's opinion."

The truth is, you don't have to respect people's opinion. Just have to respect their right of saying them.

"I'm not racist, I hate all minorities EQUALLY"

My friend got in trouble for referring to someone as 'African American'. The substitute who accused him said that we're all Americans. He reasoned his use of this 'dirty' term with this scenario:

Say someone steals your purse or wallet. Would you describe to the police: 'He was an American'. No, you'd say he was Caucasian, Asian, African American (or black), Mexican or any other race.

I just think that it's total bullshiz that people should have to not offend anyone. Someone somewhere is going to be offended.

I never calle dit being racist towards racists. I calle dit racistist.

Just like you can be ist angainst a race, maknig you racist, or you can be ist against a midget maknig you a shortist, being ist against racists makes you racistist.

There, I made up a word and defined it. Actually, I made up 3.

Listen up, idiots. The PC in the title doesen't refer to the device called the personal computer, it refers to politcal correctness. That is why this entire topic has been about RACISM AND POLITICAL CORRECTNESS. PLZ MAKE EFFURT TO REED TOPICK NECKST TIME.

Dumbducky: Racist-ist isn't a term calling racists a race. 'Racist' is basically 'race-ist' without the 'e', and it means a person who discriminates against a certain race. Thus, Racist-ist must mean a person who discriminates against a certain type of racist.

well, being a racistist is good, so why do you point out good things instead of bad ones ?

closer to the main topic.

yeah, the world is getting more & more computerized. but i know 1 side of life taht wil lget computerized the last - it's warfare & war machines. becawse they must be maximally reliable, cheap & easy to use. + any "computer" is vulnerable to an electro magneric impuls. to save him, you must shield him, & taht's not cheap allso.

You sir, are a fool. If you had even read the first psot you would realise that the PC is political correctness and not being able to express yourself anyway. As in, people thinking being a racistist is a bad thing, because the people you're oppressing made the choice to be a racist.

Everyone's becoming more politically correct. (Everyone saying happy holiday on christmas, and not really celebrating anything)

The thing is, is that people are going about this whole thing wrong. We live in a world where people believe that having a differing opinion is an argument and a threat. I could rant for a while on the subject, but ultimately I'd come to the conclusion of:

People who learn how to sue others are idiots.

i really should have red the first message pinch.gif
sorry for the first post... that was a little off-topic so i deleted it

we shouldn't burn racists on crosses just cuz "they exist", but we should punish them for crimes.

racists that attacked people just cuz of colour of their skin should be punished strongly, & you can't protect racists saying "you don't respect our rights", becawse racism leads to violence & noone gave you the right to harm another person.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Snake)Ling on 2006-04-10 at 07:10:04
Then we should punish robbers like racists, because robbers discriminate against people with money. Thus, money leads to violence as well. Plus, discriminating against people who discriminate is destroying freedom of thought. Didn't think about that, did you?

discriminate = hate everybody who have something in common (like colour of skin)

burglers discriminate people with money = they hate all people who posses money

that means they hate themselves for having money allso ?

i think you used the word "discriminate" a bit incorrect
Report, edit, etc...Posted by CaptainWill on 2006-04-10 at 07:56:34
Nope - discrimination is the different treatment of a group due to something about them which makes them different from the person discriminating.

Discrimination can be positive or negative (e.g. employing minorities before anyone else would be positive discrimination).
Report, edit, etc...Posted by JaFF on 2006-04-10 at 08:14:33
the exlanationy dictinary says: giving less right's, "impairing" rights of people by the characteristics of nationality/belief/rase/gender.

dunno, the word discrimination just doesent "get on well" with "different treatment" by my point of view.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by CaptainWill on 2006-04-10 at 08:21:37
Seeing as discrimination can work both ways, I think it's better to call it 'different treatment.'
Report, edit, etc...Posted by JaFF on 2006-04-10 at 08:23:10
wouldn't employing minorities be just showing that minorities also can work.

discrimination has a "Bad" root in it if you ask me

No it means they know that they'll work harder for less. We didn't ask you, it's a textbook defention that discrimination works both ways.
