Go to Starforge and open Scenario Properties (I think this is the one) and change unit max to whatever you want. However, when you make the map, you wont be able to create more units, and it will be as laggy as hell.

The max number of units is 1720 (note: includes start locations), the 1650 is just for staredit. I assume its because the sprite limit is 2,048 so if you have too many units the sprites will stop working.. This makes lots of bad effects in the game.. If you have too much going on the mouse stops working right and you can't click anything. It just sticks as the green arrow. I got this to happen by mind controlling almost 800 drones from my friend and having them all mine at once in a melee game. I think the "menu" button didn't work right either.

I think Starcraft only accepts 1650 units, but Clokr_ knows best. Ask him.

Maximun amount of units is 1650 no matter what.
When you create units by trigger they stop creating at 1650 and you will get a message like this.
"Cannot create more units"
The maximun unit limit is actually in the SC database and not in staredit, unless someone hacks in there we still have 1650 which is a lot.
