Xuru RPG
Made by Fwop_

This is a fantastic RPG created by Fwop_
There are Lots of side quests, Items, monsters, and Bosses to fight.
But what makes the game good is the Save system in it. You can play for 3 Hours, Then quit. write down the Passwords it gives you. and come back to your game as the Same level and Items you had before!

oh right, now for the Review..

QUOTE
Gameplay 7/10: Its not your average Gameplay. most RPGs stick to the Good ol Fashion hack and slash game. not this one, Its quite different. Unfortunately it cant stand up to Arcadia RPG.

Terrain 8/10: Very nice terrain, it could've used some extendeds. and it Seems abit bland at times but overall it is very nice.

Story 6/10: In my own personal opinion, the Story is what makes the game Good, inside SC maps and Outside SC Maps. if the game doesnt have a Story its not really a game. and it really is mindless. (but yes, this does have a Story. its just NOT very good)

Triggering 9/10: Not much i can say about this. But from what you can see In-Game it is very good.

Overall 8.4/10: Your not so Good Ol fashion hack and slash game. But still one of the More Classic RPGs out there. You should definately try this out if your just looking for a Game to play for afew hours.

Xuru RPG

This is a map that somewhat follows the footsteps of FFIII, besides the fact that it's not based on anything. I've played this several times and I'll admit that I'm not dissapointed.

Story: It's been awhile since I played it, but from what I remember, the playuers have to do something with a crystal or something. I really forgot. That means it's not good enough to be memorable. Too bad.

Terrain: As I said, this followed in the footsteps of FFIII, so it uses the same set-up. The world map terrain is generally nice, but it seems that the features of the entire world is just blended together, with little regard for regions. At least it's a mixed bag of terrain.

Battle System: I don't remember whether this had spells or not, but I liked this battle system fairly well. It's a notch above hack 'n slash RPGs, yet simple to make. Unfortunately, this sort of battle system runs down on the fun facter over time, as there was a lack of spells. If they existed, then I must've neglected them.

Originality: I can somewhat recall that I played as Benard the Bard or something. But to the point, there was a decent amount of stuff to keep you entertained. Or at least for awhile, until the battle system becomes repetitive. But what really shines in this game is the save system. Although you could simply use the save feature in SC, this one allows you to transfer things and start out with a full house again. Not to mention code trading, which could possible be amusing, if the game lasted longer on B.net. What this basically did was take a first step in SC MMORPGs. The question of whether there'll be a second step or not, is up to the mapping community.

Complexity: Besides killing Xuru and getting the crystal or whatever, the story is pretty linear, giving you a pretty free feeling of exploring the world however you like, which is good. However, some may find this to be complex, and may have troubles advancing in the storyline. As for getting used to the systematics, it's really not too difficult, and thus provides a nice learning curve.

This is a fairly fun RPG. Allowing you to run across a world, as well as providing you freedom, gives this map some major brownie points. I'll also restate the feature of the save system. It's nothing too impressive, but such a simple formula can be quite a crowdpleaser. However, the battle system suffers from repetition later on, and makes the game stale. Otherwise, the side-quests and minor stuff in this map makes it a good choice when you feel like playing something for hours.

Rating Factors:
Story - 5/10
Terrain - 6/10
Battle System - 5/10
Originality - 7/10

Other Factors:
Complexity - 3/10
Replay Value - 8/10
Fun Factor - 6/10
Difficulty - 6/10

Xuru RPG... how the days go by. Because of Xuru RPG, all other RPG games ceased to be played and are virtually non-existant on US West. However, old RPGs are slowly coming back to the surface.

Xuru indeed was a historical landmark.

What it lacked in extended terrain, complex spells, original battle system, storyline, and even some balancing (At around 15-20 you're better off using full-heal potions than an inn), it had great battle music and a save feature so you can play with any person you want. Oh, and I don't think it took so long to dl.

If a stingy person was critically examing the map for "how great it was made", their scores for this map would most likely be this:
Terrain - 3/10 It works, but nothing special.
Plot - 0/10 This thing didn't even have a plot!
Creativity 7/10 You only have a score in this because of the save system...
Triggers (Why do we even have triggers as a score anyways?)

However, people don't usually grade like this above for maps. (even though ironically they do that for terrain.. "0mg it's not perfectly blended! you're a n00b!" or "It's not something new... You suck!")

This is my grade for it:
Terrain - 10/10 It functions. I believe this was centered around the save system more than anything else, so terrain doesn't need anything great. It suits the role, while having a little bit of flair.
Plot - 0/10 Sorry, it just doesn't have a plot. But does this score really even matter? You just wanted to try out a level up system, and it worked!
Creativity - 10/10 Hurrah for save system! Even though everything else is an FFIII concept doesn't mean I should ding you for "lacking creativity". People can't always come up with some new way to do something. It worked with the level up and save system, and that's that!
Fun Factor/Replayability - 9/10 I merged the two together because they're based on each other. Yes, the fights get repetitive (-1), but if you get bored of it you can just leave and play later... that's the beauty of your save system!

Overall 10/10 I believe Fwop_ accomplished what he wanted to accomplish.

It's kinda nice that people are using the reccommend and review forum again, even if we rate the same map like 10 times pinch.gif .
Anyway I won't rate it, it's just a good rpg map, story sucked but it had one and it's the first published game to use a save function, so great job.

More over to the point I think we should defenitely reccommend and review THE YELLOW SUBMARINE! Don't you all agree?? biggrin.gif

Last year i remember looking thru the U.S West and find a game called Xuru, Simply clicking in and i saw a huge crowd downloading this game and some noob tryin to swap his marine code for the deflier (cant remember), hearing of a Save/Load system had me exited as this hasnt been done outside of warcraft 3!

With the game loading i saw a huge world (First thought was a morrowind ripoff) and i was happy to be wrong!! This game offers a great gameplay point! you no longer had to hear someone going "oh, i had a lvl 99 at one stage" because now they can prove it!! my scores below

Terrain-8/10, this map did look apealing and had a great look in the mini-map!
Plot-3/10 The story was there, but i (unfortantly) never actully noticed it!! i was to busy leveling!!
Creativity-9/10 The save/load system rocked, the leveling up system was good and i enjoyed the arena "like" battles!!
Fun Factor/Replayability-8/10 I enjoyed the constant leveling and trying to get stronger, it suffers a -2 for replayability as it did lose its touch when you got high!

I still have my codes with me, i actully have it in my hand right now!! and could everyone please post there highest lvls??

I got a Marine lvl 21, anyone wanna trade it for a deflier?? tongue.gif JOKES
