Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mp)Excalibur on 2006-04-19 at 20:27:15
Hey all,

Alot of people as far as they know percive Vampires as seen in movies. I want to discuss with the people of SEN my specific beliefs.

Please note this is important to me, and id REALLY appreicate people being easy on this. Im not saying you cant disagree but dont be like "OMFG UR STUPID LITTLE KID LOLOLOLOLOL" And no "I dont agree, your wrong im right" Thats close minded, so please dont be like that.

All information can be found here:
(Note the site doesnt allow me to copy any of their info so please take the time to read in the links.)
http://www.drinkdeeplyanddream.com/realvam...onceptions.html
http://www.drinkdeeplyanddream.com/realvampire/faq.html
http://www.drinkdeeplyanddream.com/realvampire/turned.html
http://www.drinkdeeplyanddream.com/realvam...m-i-a-vamp.html

My stand point:
As a participating member in that sites forums, i feel its a second home to me. Ive been there almost a year and ive learned alot. Ive talked with sangs, (blood drinkers) psis, (Vampires that feed off energy) and many others. I myself am just interested, i am not vampiric myself. Nor would i want to be. It doesnt make you special or better as is stated.

So take some time, read the links, and let me know in depth not in 2 lines, what you think.

Blood?!?! Vampires? None of this stuff is real, and I won't think it's real until I see one with my own eyes.

Vampires are just human-made imaginary creatures. No human really 'enjoys' the taste of blood, and therefore forces him or herself to suck the blood instead of doing it as a hobby. It's all fake. They're vampire wanna-bes.

Ok then, i understand, i know people who are the "Seeing is believing" type. Though if you read the links i dont think you would find it so hard to believe.

Obviously you must have not read the links, or your being closed to the idea. Did you consider it? Why do you feel its all fake? Its not about enjoying the tatse persay its about a physical need. No its not a made up need, there are many people like this weather you want to believe it or not.

Remember an old quote and also the sites quote:
Some things are true weather you believe them or not.

Now as expected no one gave details or reasons on why they feel how they feel. No "Well this couldnt be possible scientificly because...." Just "I dont think this is real. in my opinion theyre all wanna bes." And its those little things with no supporting reasons that really get me mad. Its discussion, not a single statement.

Please note i specifically asked 2 things:
Please read the links
Please no unsupported 2 line opinions with no reasons.

Apparently you haven't heard of Neo-Vampires.

I read the other link (the one you had where you said it turns you on)

And I dunno, I think it's certainly believable, it could be a medical condition. But how the hell do you get diagnosed? (I'll guess that it answers, and I just didn't read it)

I mean, you don't just naturally die because you don't drink blood, maybe naturally feel like crap if you don't, but you'd never know until you try it, but how the hell are you gonna do THAT?

(I should read the FAQ, shouldn't I?)

There are symptoms and they are listed. No it doesnt directly cause you to die.

When a sang (blood drinker) does not feed for extended periods of time theyll experiance:

Extreem Exauhstin
Fatuige
And finally heavy weakening of the immune system

Psi:
Basically the same, but this doesnt happend very often because Psis can feed off of energy around them from almost any living thing. Although some will only feed off humans.

Little fact: 99.8% of sangs will sub consiously psi feed when low on energy. This will help them for awhile but not indefinately.

All that site does it tells me what vampires are not. All I really got was apparently they're nothing to do with satan but some drink blood. Whoopie doo? So If you're a vampire who doesn't drink blood and doesn't have any sterotypes then you're just human, and vampire is a label slapped on that doesn't really mean anything.

Your not reading it all, theres pages up on pages of information. The Vampire 101s should provide you with that info. The reason the name Vampire is used is because of its relation to the Sangs, who are considered to slightly out number the Psis.

Try reading a bit more and browsing the site.

There is no such thing as Vampires.

They are Humans obsessed with wifes tales.

Mind over Matter.

"OMG! I suck blood, i'm a vampire! I'm weak to light, garlic, the cross, and holy water!"

To bad that's not even the real Vampire myth, stupid doo doo heades.

I did read it don't assume I just skimmed it and decided to say something stupid. There wasn't even a joke in my post, proving that I actually read it. Maybe they just suck at giving information? Because all I'm reading is what they're not and a slight mention of what they could be but there's no clear explaination.

Give me any scientific evidence that these people actually need blood to survive, and I might consider the possibility of it being real. Right now its just a group of people, many of whom are most likely children lying about their age, who were looking for some kind of spiritualism, and found it.
There really isn't any medical reason to crave human blood, which leads me to beleive that it is psychological, every single one of the side effects of "vampires" not feeding could EASILY be caused by a reverse placebo effect, they believe so strongly that they need something that their body actually responds.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by BeeR_KeG on 2006-04-20 at 18:05:23
I've never read an article about such vampirism on the newspaper or on any news dedicated site. I also see little scientific evidence on wether or not this is true or a well hidden lie. To me, I see no proof because the auther of the site is simply trying to define what a Vampiric person is and would be like.
I just don't trust these kind of websites.

[sub]I agree with Beer, there is no real medical condition that requires humans to drink blood to stay healthly.

Sorry to tell you, but that site is all lies. If they had any scientific proof, I might believe it. If they drink blood, its because they are weird, they don't 'need' it.[/sub]

Its attitudes like that, just like that, that make serious scientific study of Vampirism impossible. No one would give you a grant or any labs or equipment, and probobly call the men in white coats.

Also:
The owner and founder of the site has provided in depth information about herself on no only this site but her journal which has many photos of her, her home, parties and the like. Shes turning 29 soon and i think it childish of you to say that theyre kids who lie about their age. The forums of the site have strict rules on what minors can and cannot discuss and also keep everything well written. There is no net speak.

Also related to the first one. Example:
Rp site:
XxFangLordxX: Yo im liek a milon yrz oldz. I niht mastr. Bow t meeezzzz!!!11

Its RP sites and 8 year olds who cant spell that make opinions like Beer's valid. Look past the RP and 8 year old kids and you have fact.

The mind is a powerful thing, its very possible they are having a placebo type effect. If your mind truly believes that you need blood to survive, its possible for the mind to cause fatigue and other things, making it seem more real. But they don't truly need to drink blood.[/sub]

Then how did this person come up with this information? If not by the way of scientists?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Valug on 2006-04-20 at 18:45:10
[sub]Also, you say scientists havent encountered many illnesses, but the site seems to make a point that there are many vampires. So your tring to say none of these people never went to a doctor? Also, don't say that doctors don't understand it, because I am sure if blood was the cure to this illness, there would definally be some research on the subject. Also, don't say every vampire keeps their problems secret, because thats highly unlikely.[/sub]
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Darktica on 2006-04-20 at 19:13:46
FACT: You can drink up to two pints of blood before getting sick.

There are medical conditions similar to what this person calls "vampirism", where the host's skin is extra sensitive to sunlight (meaning that they could suffer serious burns if left out in the sun without shade for over a few minutes). There are other medical conditions, but none invovle needing to drink blood or see or taste it to survive.

I personally do not believe vampires exist, and I don't believe anyone is really attracted to the taste of blood. I, myself, don't find the taste of blood disgusting at all (it tastes like metal, which is because of the iron in it), but I don't drink it like I would water. Ancient cultures actually spread stories of supernatural blood-drinking creatures disguised as normal humans, called vampires, to scare invaders and enemies into staying away from certain areas. More information on the origin of the "vampire" and it's folklore can be found here.

Also, ask yourself, why would anyone need to drink blood? What's in our blood that their bodies need that we already have? Not one thing. Their bodies make blood out of the same components ours do, just like us. Nothing different. A list of what your blood is made of can be found here. You intake the building blocks for these components through food, then your body puts it all together to make a red blood cell. If there were vampires, then they could just as easily eat food to obtain these components rather than drink blood to do it. It's common sense.

Here's something else I found while browsing this attention-seeking person's website:

Wow, I hate this person.

She's asking her forum members for money, now? Do you ever see the head of SEN come on the forum with something like "Hi guys, I just lost big on this bet with a Mexican drug lord down town, I'll need $6,500 in cash by tomorrow night. If each of you could donate $20 that would be great. Thanks!". I don't care, really. I just thought that it's a little ridiculous that she's asking for money donations and for people to buy her jewellery. In short, I just think this person wants attention and wants to share her belief of what she thinks a vampire is with whoever else wants to share their opinion of vampires.

NOTE: I did read that FAQ, I browsed her forum, and I read her bio. So, don't use the "did you read it?" thing as a defense. I read it all.

The owner of the site who wrote most of the information is Vampiric as is about 80-90% of its forum members.

Yes they have gone to the doctor. Vampires have been diagnosied with so many things from anemia to extra sensitive skin. The forums have the storys of many vampires who had seen alot of doctors and still couldnt find anything that helped untill they "awakened" (Common term) to the fact that they were a vampire.

Darktica,

Id first like to thank you for taking the time to read things and you even took a look at the forum which is MUCH more then i can say for a few of the posters in this topic. The members of the forum are happy to lend a hand. I appreciate your opinion and respect your standpoint because you:
A. Gave reasons
B. Didnt make it 2-3 lines long.

Really, thank you. I wish everyone would make posts like that.
