I remember hearing America was going to focus on going to mars. Anyone know what happend to that? It was a big deal for a month or two, then I haven't heard of it since.
Also, what are the advantages of going to Mars, VS going underwater?
I think we should be more focused on underwater... as if we plan to be alive in the future, we will need to grow/harvest underwater food for the good +75% that our food will need to come from.
Also, we should probably build up our aviation abilities before we try to live off-world. The point where we have what an aircraft carier is for the water... but in the sky, is when we should go for a focused effort towards space.
Space is also needed for our survival. As it turns out, we don't like each other. And the only thing that seems to stop us from killing ourselves is to add more (relative) distance.
I think they have a thing going to mars right now.. i think? check the NASA web site for details... have you ever seen the hubble space telescope's pictures of space? those are effin amazing pics and it makes you contemplate things a little.. very neat. Ive never thought about that underwater stuff.. underwater food.... wouldnt you need soil to grow any kind of plant life? If so... that soil will eventually dry out.. unless we plan on eating seaweed and simular aqualife, aha.
I agree that there should be a definate focus on aviation... they can't keep using fuel simply to fly and it's veeerrry expensive to launch anything into space! Imagine if they found a planet that can support plant life and such... a little less worry about running out of food/water ehh!
There's an interesting read about building underwater cities and the resources that could be gained from them, with the eventual goal of building space habitats. The book is called the Millennium Project, you should check it out. (It's nonfiction.)
Bush was focused on going to Mars for awhile, but then he became focused on going to Iraq. I guess Iraq was just a little closer. You know how plans change like that...
I'd rather go underwater, rather than Space. Pretty much for obvious reasons, but it'd be easier to communicate with people underwater and stuff. I think we should start living underground, though

Wanna bet?
Whats wrong with eating seaweed? We do it almost every day.
dried seaweed... dude those stuff is in our soup. but raw seaweed? that is disgusting.
Icecream, toothpaste, and several other household items.
Mars is L337.
Doom is what happened to mars.

It's because Bush wants to close the space program.

So we should focus destroying rare life found only underwater and poluting our main source of keeping hydrated. Great idea. There also isn't a "floor" to the ocean, it goes down pretty far.

lol... america can't do that but nasa can

. They havn't found anything cool but i bet if you check the newspaper you can see articles here and there. You seemed to have gotten into an oppinion here on space which is kinda random and weird..
they need a race, somebody to step on their heels. someone like China could do that. + US is in Iraq, it's not cheap, so it cuts off some part of money for differetn programs, i suspect that NASA's fligh to Mars was not an exception.
