Staredit Network -> Miscellaneous -> 4 foot rule
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Slyence on 2006-04-23 at 23:00:48
This is such bullshiz. The Seattle city council ruled that strip clubs here can no longer have lap dances, private rooms, or have strippers within 4 feet of the customers. Supposedly this law was made to "protect families" but that's retarded because strip clubs are already pretty isolated in this city and there's only 4 of them to begin with, and none of them have the sleazy, underworld culture of the strip clubs in places like Tacoma and Whitecenter. The real reason they made this law is to spit in the face of activists who worked to destroy the archaic "no new strip clubs" law that came into effect 1988 and was struck down recently.

Seattle has shizty traffic, a stumbling economy, major Boeing problems, and a government that pays jack shiz attention to its voters. Seattle voted down both of the new sports stadiums but the government built them anyway. Gee, couldn't we have spent all that money on the farking monorail that we're about 2 or 3 billion dollars short for constructing? We passed the monorail resolution 4 times but the mayor is this close to shutting down the project permanently, and now the city council finally gets off its lazy ass and does something it hasn't in years, it takes a position on something. And that position is that the good citizens of our city who have been getting layed off their jobs and had their benefits slashed shouldn't be allowed to get a lap dance at one of our four strip clubs.

Protect families? You're not protecting families! It's just as useless as censoring just the nipple on TV.

So they're protecting the families who so often go on outings to strip clubs to see daddy get a lapdance?

WTF?
