Bush talks about the Patriot Act. What are some of your thoughts about it?

These so-called 'sunset provisions' he mentions should not be renewed permanently. There's a reason for them being temporary - they should be renewed only if necessary.

I think it's very long. I'd hope the Bush speech would actually be 2 paragraphs with 80 pauses in between words.

QUOTE(Bush)
Since September the 11th, 2001, we have gone on the offensive against the terrorists. We have dealt the enemy a series of powerful blows. The terrorists are on the run, and we'll keep them on the run. Yet they're still active; they're still seeking to do us harm. The terrorists are patient and determined. And so are we. They're hoping we'll get complacent, and forget our responsibilities. Once again, they're proving that they do not understand our nation. The United States of America will never let down its guard.

O rly? If we have delt them powerful blows, why are we still in the same places in Iraq we started in? They are running? Really? Where to? Seems like we continue to be attacked in the same spots as the beginning of the war. Does that look like they're running? Not to me. How about you?

Reading the second part of this quote, made me giggle: They are still active because we have invaded their homeland. They are doing us harm, because they are killing our men. They are patient and determined, because they don't want corperate US-like shiz happening where it shouldn't. We are determined to set up Democracy there, so we can get cheap as fark Oil. We have gotten complacent, and have forgotten our responsibilities. Look at the US MAINLAND. Things are horrible here. They're proving they don't understand our nation? I think BUSH doesn't understand our nation. Our nation isn't about invading poor countries for our own benefit..

We won't let down our guard? Um... We already have.

QUOTE(Bush)
This is a long war, and we have a comprehensive strategy to win it. We're taking the fight to the terrorists abroad, so we don't have to face them here at home. We're denying our enemies sanctuary, by making it clear that America will not tolerate regimes that harbor or support terrorists. We're stopping the terrorists from achieving the ideological victories they seek by spreading hope and freedom and reform across the broader Middle East. By advancing the cause of liberty, we'll lay the foundations for peace for generations to come.

What strategy is that? Oh really? Sacrifice good American men by fighting them in their home territory, where they know ever nook and cranny, so they can use Gorrila Warfare on us? Mmhmm.

If we won't tolorate regimes that harbor or support terrorists, why are you still in power Bush? You're more of a terrorist than Bin Laden ever was. You created the RAVE Act, which destroys the Amendment that allows the freedom to assemble. You've created The PATRIOT Act which basically destroys every single Bill Of Rights amendment we have. You've tried giving the military more power (You even said you were going to give the military more power in your State Of The Union address) which is Martial Law, which is against the constitution. We've stopped them from achieving ideological victories? And what are those? The ideals that they hate the US, and want us out?? Hokay Bush.

Democracy != Forcing Democracy/"Liberty" on countries. Sorry, you lose Bush.

I'm done. I'm sick of pointing out the truth behind his words. Call me a "Conspiracy Theorist" or what not, but if you logically think about this, you will know that I have truth to my words.

fark Bush. Right up his pooper.
