How many of you take AP (Advanced Placement) classes? How many of you took the national finals for the classes?
I just took the national final for AP US History, and I'm near sure I flunked it. I don't think I failed it, but I don't think I got a 4 (score 1-5, 1 being lowest, 3 passing, 4 for college credit)
AP Government on Tuesday.
We don't have AP classes
We have X classes
I have IB, not AP.
To quote a friend, "The IB Program gives rimjobs to goats for crap-stained pennies."
AP Chem on wednesday. Im ready. I got a 5 on the practice.
Just took AP stat exam tuesday.
Gonna have AP Physics B exam this monday, AP Government exam this tuesday, and AP Economics this thursday.
4 AP classes total.
Stat was a female dog. question 6 was like ANOVA right?
Yea dude, Question six on the free response was a NIGHTMARE. NOBODY in our class knew how to answer it right, since we were never taught how to do stuff like that.
I only answered part a and left the rest blank since it was always based off the previous parts. And I don't even know if I answered part a correctly
I'm done with my AP tests.
English Language, CS AB, Calculus AB and US History. Fun stuff.
All that this year or past years?
There was a question on AP US test where there was no right answer:
Something about what John Marshall favoured
a. Restricting federal power
b. big business
c. increasing states rights
d + e. Other non relavent answers
Marshall is for federal government, but a + c are exactly opposite that. B doesn't really have to do with strong federal govt, but everyone put that anyway. I was so mad -.-
i took ap world history wednesday, and sophomores can only take ap world, but next year ill have english 3, us hist, chem, and bio
Sophomores in my state take it 10th grade. World = 9th
AP World History? WTF?
Took Calc AB on wednesday, pretty easy actually.
Man you guys are lucky.
Here in Texas, most people usually don't take any AP exams until junior year. Only a few smart intelectuals can even have the possibility of taking one or two their sophomore year. This occurs when they take APUSH (AP Us history) or AP Computer Science. And it's also because they're in the IB program, something most highschools don't have.
Freshmen, Sophmores, and even alot of juniors here would take classes called "Pre-AP [subject]." You still get the +1.0 point in your Academic Average thing, and the difficulty is almost the same as an AP class. The only difference is that you don't take an AP exam in May.
@ MA
That's how my school does it, although I've only seen Pre-AP PhysChem for the Pre-AP classes. We're offerd AP USH and AP Comp-Sci sophomore year.
the only class i want to take ap in is calculus
I can take AP chem and AP us history next year if i want to. Which I probably will. No exams yet. I don't know any sophomores in AP classes...we're just in honors stuff right now =/
Where did MA get the idea we're all sophomores?
Because many of you guys seem too smart
I took the AP U.S. History test, the DBQ and FRQs kind of sucked, but I think I passed as far as the multiple choice goes. At least I'm taking AP Environmental Science test, the easiest one of all. That will boost my confidence a bit.
I don't have any AP classes because they don't exist here
Another reason why USA > Canada
jk
I'll start taking some AP's in sophmore year. Currently, I'm in 8th grdae, taking Hon. Algeb. II and hon. Geo next year, Hon. US His., Hon. Bio, Hon. Eng. Harmony I is my other elective (Hon. Geo counts as an elective since I'm taking it as an extra"
Does honors even mean anything? You do more work, but colleges usually overlook that and look for AP classes. In fact, they don't even really care about your education before high school.
Honors can sometimes be a prerequisite for AP.
