I'm one of those many readers out there who thoroughly enjoyed the book, The Da Vinci Code. I'm sure that everybody here has seen at least one preview for the movie. Do you think it will be great and not disgrace the book? Or do you think it will crumble because of Tom Hank's hair? My prediction: Will be good overall, but will neglect a bit of key moments in the book.

I think it will be pretty good. All the Tom Hanks movies I've seen are all good, he seems to know when a movie will turn out great. They also included a nice girl wink.gif

This will be an excellent movie, but i don't think it will live up to what the book was.

Usually, books never live up as good as the book since you have to reduce and cut a lot of things to fit it in a 2-3 hour movie. Currently, there are a lot of critics that are bashing the movie but I'll go check out the movie after a few weeks when the theaters won't be crowded.

The film has been totally panned by the critics. I'll hopefully see for myself tomorrow.

I'm sure it'll be ok. Religous Conspiracy theories are pretty boring and useless to me. Like if they found out that jesus actually had black hair and was from Italy I wouldn't really care.

I usually like what I see first better, as in the book or the movie. I read the Da Vinci Code twice, so I'll probably like it better than the movie. But, I saw the Lotr movies before I read the books, so I like the movies better.

The book is crap that sells it self on controversy. Gnostic? My ass. I'm not seeing it.

Wow, that makes you very retarded for not seeing it due to religious reasons.
Its a freaking movie not a non fictional commentary on religion. I saw it and i found it to be an excellent movie but a tad longer than it should have.

The book and movie are about a conspiracy theory having to do with Religon and Jesus Christ. That doesn't make him an idiot, it is religous.

Saw the movie yesterday, must say I rather liked it. Although it's been a while since I read the book, I think it did a pretty good job of sticking to it.

The movie was made for all of the suspense, while the book was made for the entire story.

Seen the movie, pretty good I just don't know why the Cinema Critics have a bad opinion about it, I think its good.

I saw the movie, it was okay. I wouldn't recomend it as a definate watch. Its just if you want to. I thought it did stick with the book pretty well.

Did they had to show the Slia's ass?......

I thought the movie was pretty good, definately not as bad as the critics rave it is. I find it funny how many people I know that saw it simply because local churches have been telling people not to go see it. bleh.gif

Yes it does because its just a freaking movie. Why would he say that crap to this movie but not the passion of the christ or the exorcist hmm?

Because that'd be off topic.
Duh?
I really hope you were kidding when you asked that.

I saw the movie the other day, I thought that it was pretty good, the only thing was that it was kind of skippy, like all of a sudden the guy was standing out of the car. They should have slowed it down and made it like another 30 minutes and touch it up a little bit. The ending was soo fast too, It left me thinking why she was the secret, then I realised that she really wasnt, i is under the pyramid made out of glass! My parents watched it too and they said they were really confised and I had to tell them.

I'm religious too but I'm still going to see it. I don't think there is anything wrong about watching that movie, I can tell the difference between fact and fiction. The same thing goes with Harry Potter.

You dont have to agree with a movie to watch it! I just enjot watching movies that involve the person watching the movie to actually pay attention and try to figure things out. My favorite movie of all would have to be National Treasure which involves you a lot. I thought The Davinci Code would be more like National Treasure but it wasnt nearly as good, I was kind of upset but it was enjoyable, I would recomend this to people who liked National Treasure!

It was either I haven't read the book very carefully, or it was a total blow out. I hated the movie, loved the book... Its always like that.. movies usually are overshadowed by the books. only the books that are made from the movies tend to match each other.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Wilhelm on 2006-06-03 at 15:34:10
Marine, what the hell are you talking about?

I never said I wasn't going to see it because of "religious reasons", I'm not religious. I said the book sucked. I've heard from a good friend who read it and looked a bit for myself, it's poorly written, I personally think it's just a damn stupid idea, and it's overhyped by...well, idiots.
