240+ songs. Gone. Original compositions... cry.gif

It must be a sign... It must be... What do you think?

Did I really forget to back them up?
Or did I forget so I could strive to be better?

You forgot to make yourself work harder and think about next time, and also gain from the experience you got from making those songs.

Well, you couldn't have forgotten all of them, you could try to remember them and rewrite them. Or maybe they magically appeared in a different folder, I don't know, temporary?

I have the completed ones Exported. And I don't write down the sequences (I make Electronic Music) so i'm screwed there.

Hopefully I didn't CUT them from my mom's comp, only copied...

That's pretty bad. I've lost things around like 40 musical sequences and like 60 groups of lyrics, but never THAT much. Now I back them up as soon as I write them. Check your moms computer or else you could be screwed ;P

What's the point of this topic?
Realistically, we can't do anything to get them back for you.

What's the point of any Null thread?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mini Moose 2707 on 2006-05-09 at 17:36:08
Certainly not to inform us of your loss of 240+ songs which, while tragic, means little, if any, to most of us. Certainly not to watch you waste posts informing others they are spamming. Certainly not to look at the single emoticon annoyance posts.

But isn't that how most Null threads are? In some way, shape, or form?

Kellimus, if you are willing to spend a significant sum of money, you should send the drives to a professional recovory service, although now that you've used the computer after losing the data, much of it may have already been overwritten.
Basically, when you delete a file on your computer, all it actual does is delete the header, so that the file gets written over when the computer needs more space. Professional data recovory people can view the drive in DOS, and restore data that has yet to be overwritten.
Basically, if you think you might be willing to spend a large sum of money to get them back, stop using your computer immediatly and contact a data recovory firm.

XP doesn't use DOS Shattered.

I'm sure these people know what they're doing, Kellimus. I expect they would boot the PC into DOS.

.....There is no DOS in XP. They took it out. Command Promt is not DOS
Report, edit, etc...Posted by CaptainWill on 2006-05-10 at 18:06:06
Surely they can just remove the HD and install DOS on it?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by The_Shattered_moose on 2006-05-10 at 18:16:16
Yeah, they can recover, even from XP, you can boot dos off a floppy really easily.
