Two FAQ threads have been updated.
Crime and Punishment has been updated slightly. Let this news post serve as a reminder that we expect you to have read that FAQ thread if you read any.
Also,
Clan Hosting Regulations is a compilation of the three posts in previous Clan Hosting thread. Note that clan forum hosting requirements have been changed.
This is because both FAQs went through rewrites for their SEN v5 counterparts. Figured it couldn't hurt to update it back here. I might copy over additional threads soon.
If you expect everyone to read Crime and Punishment you should probably put it at the top of all fourms on the fourm. That way they won't have an excuse. FAQ stands for Frequently Asked Questions, not "HERE ARE THE RULES READ THEM".
Just a suggetion.
The forum name is FAQs and Regulations. You will be held to the rules regardless of whether or not you read them. If I remember correctly, the link has been provided to new members for quite some time when they register. Additionally, the link is under the "Site" heading as the "Rules" link.
I definantly read this as "Two crimes have been commited" and then I got really scared.
For some odd reason.. that C&P thread is quite fun to read
.
Oh, and Moose, do you plan on updating the user-lock/user-unlock thing? It gets old seeing users lock their own threads just because other users anger them or just because 'they want to'
Example:
http://www.staredit.net/index.php?showtopi...ndpost&p=482746The discussion could have continued. (although it was getting a little flame-ish)
If people are stubborn and doesn't want to hear something, they won't, regardless of whether posts are made or not. Better the topic gets locked so its easier for all of us.
I have just read both updates.
Incredible, melee clans will now be allowed. Hopefully, this will will bring more melee activity. A Melee discussion forum wouldn't hurt in the future. Also, content is broader. I was wondering why Clan MM was here but didn't make maps. The grammar addition well weed out the people applying for a clan who are unprofessional.
Yay?
*Deathawk reads now In other news Mark Prior pitched a bullpen session.
So I assume "Internal Clan Fights" really means the clan spits or a large scale revolt happens.
Internal Clan Fights sounds more like a "Fred doesn't like Suzzy" situation. And that falls under the basic flaming rules.

more like an emo problem to me.
i dont really think the fight will spread into SeN like a virus. usually the situation stays in that forum
i don't really know what "emo" means. But it is clear that it refers to clan disagreements that result multiple sides claiming to be the actual clan and both laying claim to the forums.
Its not arguments like "you stole my map", or "we no longer allow protection on our maps", or "the curtains should be blue". However big one of those arguments gets, SEN doesn't care until the group who wants green curtains breaks off, has their own site, and wants control of the forum. Then SEN has to decide who to side with if ither.
If there is more to that rule i'm missing the point.

there is more. I think the rules is talking about serious issues to the clan like fighting over leadership or if they want to be a moderator then a few posts later its all flame. if the clan leader cant control the issue then SeN would lock and probably delete the forum, depending how nice the administrators are.

I was under the impression that Moose meant melee mapping clans. There are far too many melee clans for SEN to host.
Oh, by the way Moose: The Clan CP icon upload script is broken.
