NOTE: THIS ISN'T AN iPOD BASHING TOPIC. I DON'T CARE IF YOU HATE iPODS.
Recently, my iPod just froze on me. I restarted it and it gave me an error message that told me to go to apple.com/support/ipod. I go there and receive no help with my problems.
Anyone ever see this before and solve it?
did u email them? l find there customer support very helpful
No, I figured this would be a little faster.
Did you get updates for your iPod? How about a charge?
Probably another glitch liek I had. Just let it cool down. IF not, SEND IT TO APPLE AND SUE THEM! jk...Call Apple Co. and ask about it.
I drained the battery and it will take a charge. Unfortunately, I can't get it to respond to my comp. Getting it into disc mode doesn't work either.
I'm thinking, since my friend had his iPod freeze up and Apple sent him a video iPod replacement, that that could happen to me
If you're covered by the warranty, just email ipod support about it and get info for sending it in to be fixed
I'm pretty sure I have my warranty, I only got it Christmas. Anything that I might have possibly done to make it void the warranty?
Time and opening the physical ipod. I think the warranty is 1/2 year or 1 year. Either case, you're covered.
Hold the middle and left button at the same time
Not sure about other iPods but it is middle and up button to restart for the video one, however 7-7, dumbducky already said he restarted it.
I had some error of my friends iPod Video because I drained all the batteries and it froze. I just plugged it back in and it does not seem to react but when you leave it there for a long time it will magically come back to life.
I'll try that, it's recharging now.
Same with me, it froze up. So i drained the battery and charged it for a while. Works fine.

Yeah..If its already fixed, custom support really helps sometimes
LOL I was just looking through their site, and they were doing some talk about how the iMac's tech support can be solved by one click web sites. I've spent an hour trying to find something that will fix my iPod.
Well it depends on the level of screwedness your ipod is.
I know that there are various causes for the support link to appear, it may or may not be helpful, but I would suggest going there. My sister did something "accidentally" to my ipod, where I always got that message, and it registered as a CD when I conneced it to the computer. Anyway, the ipod updater has some sort of reboot function if I remember correctly. Try the support page, then go there.
If you're able to connect your ipod successfully to the computer, and you need to make a backup of the music, try a program called EphPod that extracts all the music from your ipod and puts them in order and folders.
You don't need a waranty. If you have the recipt go back to the store and say it broke, they just give you a new one if they can't fix it.
And if you can't do that I suggest just opening the ipod up and seeing if any gears fell.

Wrong word, or is it...
I had mine custom made, when I listen to music I want to hear machinery in the backround!!
