Good Map, I just don't know why someone would want to make a map without using triggers, you should get into UMS, those are the ones that really push StarCraft to the limit! Making a melee map is just like putting terrain down and then you are done, I like making it more original adding triggers and a different style of game play, If I made a melee map I think I would have to add some type of triggers thing that would make it really original. I would get to bored just making a terrain map! -Just my opinion.

But good job on the terrain I like it!

[sub]7-7, Melee can be just as hard as UMS to make. I would like to see you make a balanced and attractive melee map.

As for the map, for your first map, its very good. Right now the map favors terran. Giving terran a big free nat like that means terran can turtle with ease. Theres not much room, making it impossible to stop the terran push. The island expos are also very easy for terran to take and defend. My suggestion is making the naturals behind the mains have alot less nodes, or remove it all together. Get rid of the high ground expos and make the middle bigger. [/sub]

It looks making a ground assault at the beginning of the game would be hard because of the distance. I personally prefer rushes, it's all I'm good at.

I especially like the layout of the expansions.

Nice map, especially for your first time ever. My first attempts were well...horrid.

Your map looks nice and balanced with plenty of room and strategical options.

While being challenging to make a nice balanced melee, UMS is far more challenging from a technical perspective. If you ever get an idea for a fun scenario, you should give it a try.

HINT: Don't try to make a 256x256 RPG with over a thousand Triggers for your first attempt. It'll discourage you if nothing else.

(Very) Nice for first map.

5 O clock has a rather longer ground entrence then the others though...
Otherwise, Im totaly stupid on anything else in melee maps.

i played this map last night and it was pretty fun. some of the mineral spots were cluttered and felt...i don't know. it just didn't feel like they place perfectly. but than again no body is perfect. good melee map man

Congrats on the first melee map you have created. Seems like a good map to me except it will be extremely boring at the beginning for both protoss because they can't get good mineral base from this island map. Terran seems like ok to me with zergs on top. Zergs will do the best on here. IT is "who gets the first rush is who wins" kind of game.

I tried to make it more balanced, and tried to keep it as original as possible. It still has some flaws, but it's the best I could do without heavily changing the map.
