im sorta in a hurry so ill get to the point:

im trying to make a building make creep but it wont work

its a protoss building, shield battery, i set the computer and human idle to:
initing creep growth

nothing happens in game, ive made buildings give psi, but the creep isnt working

*question directed at BroodKiller and dat edit users: can it fix my problem here?*

*voy cept telling me to make it require creep to make creep... while hes wrong it doesnt need creep to make creep, cuss ive made my building work, but i need it to generate creep*

To make it spread creep you have to make it require creep. The Hatchery is an exception to this because it is hardcoded in the EXE.

Edit: It seems like only buildings that spread creep can. I even copied the entire DAT entry and put it somewhere else.

ive made it spread creep without needing to be place on it, and the creep colony doesnt need to be placed by creep to make creep, and there is a way to make buildings generate creep, ive seen it done in ver 1.07

Your wrong creep colony DOES need creep.

want me to proove my point on teh creep colony? use a dat editor and make a colony not need creep, now place it far away, BAM generated creep

I believe that you may need to edit the Order.dat requirements via memgraft for creep. Even so, the orders that spread creep may still be hardcoded to the Unit ID's(I can't remember of the top of my head if they are or aren't) of the Hatchery, Lair, Hive, Creep Colony, Spore Colony, and the Sunken Colony. However, in answer to the question, there is no way that just a .dat editor could properly produce the effect that you are looking for.

I was spreading creep with just a DAT edit while posting my previous post in this topic..

I think their referring to spreading creep for Protoss and Terran buildings (not zerg buildings that didn't already tongue.gif )

Screenshots. YAY!
I just added the "Spread Creep" to two protoss buildings and on one I checked "Requires Creep".

EDIT:
Oh! I see why I didn't own this topic yesterday. It did not add my Edit#2.

i know spread creep is able on protoss, but i mean this : they make creep.... creep colonies can make creep without being near it, and yes i know of the dat files and thats what i have set

I believe the ability to spread Creep without touching it is hardcoded to the buildings that were originally Zerg buildings. At least, that's what I assume from the testing I did.
