Mr. Self Destruct - NIN

The first song I really listened to by them. Before my ears were sorta trained for it.

You gotta listen to the song, the way it's delivered, and the lyrics to really understand.

So at first I just heard a load of garbage.
Then I finally made out the main lyrics.
Then I heard the "and I control you" and I was like "...Yeah, that crap totally does"
And then I heard the "I am an instinct", and I was all like "Yeah, maybe it is"
And then, when I finally wanted to change this certain part of me, I heard the very faint whispers (near the middle of the song) saying "'Cause you let me do this to you"

It described me for a long long long ass time.

And still does to an extent.

The song that best reflects on me has to be...

Adema - Giving in

Every lyric in that song is ALL about me, it's scary.

Wander My Friends - Bear McCreary

Translated from the Gaelic original:

QUOTE

Wander my friends, wander with me
Like the mist on the green mountain, moving eternally
    Despite our weariness,
    we’ll follow the road
    Over hills and valleys
to the end of the journey

Mr. Self Destruct used to be me, but now I'm more of a Happiness in Slavery.

Neil Young - Old Man

Atleast in expressing similiarities to a particular old man. That being said, this topic is pretty stupid, considering alot of the posters are pretty dull, fairly average teenagers who've led pretty uneventful lives, the kind of stuff that doesn't become songs. Alot of the above here are whiny annoying songs, perhaps fitting the posters in being whiny and annoying.

Happiness in Slavery is about being stuck in a system where you are not recognized and giving up in frustration. Basically my entire school experience.

Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green day

Mainly because im not the type of person with many friends...
This year i seem to be getting more but my last school left me with no self-confidence or self-esteem. So i have a huge issue with trusting people. But life goes on!

Switchfoot - The Loser
(Song linked. Disregard the video, just random bits of concert not syncing with the song)

That basically is my view on the world.

'Cause I've been thinking, thinking
I've got a plan to lose it all
I've got a contract pending on eternity
If I haven't already given it away
I've got a plan to lose it all
