The file Windows/hal.dll which I figured out is the mouse configuration keeps getting deleted on my computer for no reason...Reformatting fixs it but it just gets deleted faster and faster now...I dont think Ive had a virus on my computer the last few times this has happened eather

You probably did all these already, but do them again:
Scan your computer with antivirus. Scan with various spyware removal tools, including Spybot and Ad-Aware. Recall if you downloaded anything or went to any site which causes this to start happening, then delete it. Try reinstalling your mouse. Finally, if you happened to make a ghost of your computer, reload that.
If nothing works, then I don't know

Try copying this file an place it on the drive in a place where you can get too easy. Save it their and copy it like 5 times. Maybe this will keep it from getting deleted and if it does it will take 5 times. Make sure you copy, not a shortcut!

Set it as read-only: right click on the file, then go to properties then check read only.

weeeeird... if u can't find help here.. there's many, many tech forums out there with people who have the same problem as you, im sure.
