I really love this program.  Saves me all that time of messing with new installations placed all over my drives.  Thanks a bunch!

Hmm, well, I had a problem a week ago or so. I don't know if it is because of this program though. I'll report it anyway.

I was running 1.13e and everything was working fine. Then I used SC Downgrader to downgrade to 1.10. After I did that, I could no load any of the Starcraft maps because they were 'unreadable' or 'corrupt' according to the game. I could not open them in the 1.10 map editor either. It is not the the map files went corrupt, it is that the older version could not read from them anymore. Using SC Downgrader to 1.13e again, the game could read the maps.

So yeah, to get around that I just did a re-install and used the blizzard patcher to get to 1.10, so please, no one tell me how to solve my problem. I will not care. smile.gif

I just thought I'd report that. Great program though! smile.gif

Not the fault of SCDowngrader, happens with the 7x Patcher (a.k.a. StarCraft patcher All version)

So i think sth was changed in map reading during the patching..

Yeah, that's what I thought. It's just an issue I thought I'd bring up, because really it means you can't use SC Downgrader to play mods for 1.10, unless you don't mind not being able to use any of the stock maps. disgust.gif

seems like a helpful program. I'll download it later for my other comp. I'm over-paranoid with viruses on my main one. Seems great for playing mods.

I know in 1.12 they did something to all Blizzard maps, and that is why I can't get that version.. (The blizzard patch kept giving errors on the maps)

I've figured out how you can fix the maps problem.
There is a file, blizzard_2.cnd, that was changed in 1.12, you need to extract the old one and put it in your data archive, and whenever you downgrade below 1.12, put that one in every blizzard map.

I think it's easier just to re-install than to load a file into every single map, but hey, it's good to know what the source of the problem is. Thanks, Doodle! smile.gif

He means make SCD do it..

well, i gave him a list of 231 blizzard maps, so hopefully he will make it automatic.

You could make a new command like "downgrade *map*" to downgrade a single map or "downgrade all" to downgrade every map in the maps folder and "downgrade default" to downgrade just Blizzard maps. You could also have it as an option when you downgrade, like "install 1.10 -x". -x would be -a to downgrade all your maps and -d to downgrade default maps.

I think only Blizzard maps include it, since 1.12 only changed blizzard maps and downloaded Blizzard maps.

Except how would I list more commands on the side? sad.gif
I guess I could make it have a "commands" command that lists all the commands. I don't know.. I like that list on the side.

um make the window bigger? or if that is impossible make the commands command and some key functions on the side?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Rikimbo on 2006-06-27 at 12:24:47
Make it some kind of hidden easter egg command! Or just put it in your documentation. Actually, a "commands" command that lists all of the commands is a pretty good idea.

Nice. I'd really like you to finish the backup/restore commands though... I'm really paranoid about file corruption ever since I lost my CD case...

ADD: Also, I hate that colour blue...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by O)FaRTy1billion on 2006-07-12 at 00:15:01
You try finding decent colors when you only have 16 of them; 8 lighter and 8 darker. tongue.gif
I don't know if I left it in, but I made a command to list all the usuable colors so I could decide how to color things >.>

Any ideas on how I should update the MPQ? biggrin.gif
Downloading a 13 MB MPQ just for one patch isn't nice.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by dumbducky on 2006-08-04 at 11:34:01
Perhaps you could put it on an external source and make the user download it from there?

Hurry up, we need downgrader to upgrade us back up after mod night.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by O)FaRTy1billion on 2006-08-04 at 12:11:19
I already can upload files for downloading, its just not many people want to download a 13+ MB file. I could make patches and reupload the complete one, but then I would have to make a way to patch it...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by dumbducky on 2006-08-04 at 12:16:00
Could you possibly compress it?

Maybe, you could isolate all the changes, and just upload a file that would change the file to match that. Of course, you'd have to do that with every patch, so that would take too long.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by O)FaRTy1billion on 2006-08-04 at 12:38:59
Its already as compressed as you can make it. xD
MPQs don't compress well.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Voyager7456(MM) on 2006-08-04 at 15:54:06
Instead of using SCD to upgrade again, you could always just connect to B.net. tongue.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by dumbducky on 2006-08-04 at 16:08:50
Bnet wouldn't let me succesfully update to 1.14 from 1.13f, so I had to download the external file from Blizzard.com. I still have it on my comp somehwere, but I'm too lazy to dig it up.
