Starcraft Downgrader 2.0 BETA
  • ~ History ~
    Some time ago when I was needing to downgrade my Starcraft, I said to myself, "I wish there was a faster and easier way to do this without having to reinstall StarCraft somewhere." So I set out to gather patch files for different versions.
    At first, this was a collection of install programs to install thoes files in your Starcraft Directory. They were ugly and a pain so I never released them and decided to give the project DOS abilities!!!1one
    During this project, the Starcraft AllPatch thing was posted. I decided to still move forward on this project.

  • ~ About ~
    This is just a simple C program that will copy files into your Starcraft folder. Just type in one of six commands!
    This does NOT downgrade StarEdit files.

  • ~ Commands ~
    List as seen in the program. More details in the readme file.
    • install <v>
      Installs version <v>
    • versions
      Lists supported versions
    • backup*
      Saves current version files
    • restore*
      Restores backup files
    • about
      Displays information about this program
    • exit
      Closes the program
    *Not available in this version because I still need to get off my lazy ass and do them. tongue.gif

I couldn't get it compressed very much.
Edit: I am playing a bit more with compression.. hopefully I can get it smaller.

Seems to be quite useful for...watching replays as well. I applaud to your efforts. Since this is in BETA...are there any bugs that exists at this point? Or is it seemingly flawless so far?

Can u change versions back and forth? like mine right now is 1.13e, and it says StarGraft like doesnt work for 1.08a and above. helpsmilie.gif

You can use MemGraft to make your StarGraft patch to whatever version of MemGraft you have.
And if the version is in the versions list in the program, you can change it to that no matter what version you have. wink.gif

For the people who use this just to watch old replays, i suggest you use the beta BWLoader, it lets u load different versions of Broodwar, much easier then downgrading each time.

Downgrading in this is as simple as typing "install 1.13d" or something similar.
I'm trying to get Farty to add a 'play' command.

Yes it can, all you'd have to do is type install 1.13f.

Point is you don't need to do any patching with BWLoader its much more simple and clean instead of patching Brood War into different versions.
