Side Note:
This map was made in 10 days for the May Contest. If enough people want me to remake it with more features, then just convince me to. Also, PLEASE REPORT ANY BUGS SO THAT I CAN FIX THEM. Download! This map sounds really nice, Good Job on it. I bet this will do well in the May Contest. This map will also help Clan(MC) more people from the clan should post more maps!
Ok this is becoming a problem. Everytime I want to download a map it gives me a page with all those "words script" but nice map tho.
Nice map I think this might get first in the competition! Hooray for urmom

Thank you.

You didn't experience any bugs did you?
And to download, right click and go to save as (or save link as). Then save it to your desktop. On your desktop, rename the extension to .scx.

You right click on the link attatchment and click save as, then you save it as a .scx or .scm
.scm = Starcraft (original)
.scx = Starcraft Brood War (expansion)
normally .scx because everyone has brood war by now, what urmom said!
This was better than the other maps, but this map is still EXTREMELY BORING. 5.5/10. This was better than Mill's map.

this map sounds very strange...but in a good way! keep it up
If you're using IE, right click, save as, change the tab from "HTML" to "All Files" then save as RandomMapName.sc(m/x)
This map is sexy! If it doesn't get into the top 3, Voyager and I will revolt and put Moose's head over the fireplace.
8.5/10, although it could've had more features.
Heh, that was a fun map. It would've been nice if a message was displayed when you caught a fish though. It took me a while to realize I had caught a bunch.
Some Über-rare, valuable fish might be cool too.
Great job, anyway. I loved the idea of using cloaked units as fish.
Good map, but I would add these things:
- Text, for displaying what kind of fish were caught
- Text, for notifying you how much money you got from profits
- Signs for how much it costs to buy things
Overall, just signs and stuff to make this more professional.
Hmm those all sound like great ideas. I'll start working on them and release a new version in a couple days.
I can't think of any way to really display how much money that you earned from selling the fish so I'm not sure if I'll do that.
Well not the total, but probably like you know in those diplomacy games where it tells you what cities you've conquered and how much money you got from them? Well maybe you can sort of do the same with this? But for instance, if you caught 5 Carps made a trigger that says "You got 1 carp: $$(amount)" and so on until you reach number 20 or whatever the max capacity for fish is. Don't make it so that each and every fish gets it own line of text; only the fish types get its own categories
I added a new version with the suggestions that you guys gave me. Tell me if you think there is still some more things to fix. I'm always open to suggestions on making it more fun too.
It crashes for me.

Damn I protected this one with Proedit, well I'll fix that.
Ok sorry about that, it is now fixed, I just tested it.

You did score my map 0.5 higher

But yea, this map is really good. Only criticism I could think of at the moment was the lack of professionality at first.
lol yea it was kind of tough to whip a map out in 10 days that was of great professionalism. I kind of had the little stuff that makes a map seem professional at the bottom of my list when I was making this map because I was racing against the clock.
no bugs or anything to update?
I bet environmentalists would hate your map.
I should try this out...if I had an opponent. But then again, I'm too lazy to go on B.net right now.
It was fun at first, but it gets boring after awhile. Also, upgrading the goon and dt weapons seemed to have no effect.

You can just play it by yourself. It's just that there's no competition to get your adrenalin flowing.
New version 1.2. Fixed Miscellanious bugs with upgrading your cannon.
Fish Market V1.2
Genre: Multiplayer Competitive Fishing
Game Engine: Real time
Tileset: Jungle
Dimensions: 64x64
Fish market. Sound very interesting, as if the players have to follow the economic flow, and get the most customers possible for their company. TIme to try this out.
Story: Stories aren't really needed for any multiplayer competitive games, but it's always a plus. Thus, you get a brownie point for making one.
Terrain: It's...the ocean, some square tiles, and a dock. It could've been a little bit more creative, with maybe a shore on the opposing side, or something minor, but as it fits the purpose of the game, there's not much to say on this.
Gameplay: Despite what I thought, the game actually isn't about capturing fish and then selling it at an ideal price to customers. Instead, it plays very similarly to Tux's Fishing Game. Of course, this has its upsides and downsides. THe upgrading system is fun, but personally, I think the prices should be raised a bit more, so the pace of the game will seem to drag on a bit more, esp. in those 10 or 20 minute games. Either that, or reduce the amount of time to 5 or 10 minute games. Although I did see a difference in the types of shot, it's actually not really worth the time switching weapons and then shooting, as the observer (fish) would've passed you by then. The gameplay could've been improved in two ways. Either shorten the game times, or increase the difficulty and add more stuff into it. Otherwise, it wasn't a complete waste of time.
Originality: Well, there's definately alot of fishing related games in the contest. I actually haven't tried any other maps that are entering the contest, but I have a feeling that alot of them maps derive from each other.
Complexity: I didn't read the instructions prior to playing the game, but I pretty much got the hang of it anyway. It's quite simple to understand the map, so the curve is more flat than a true curve.
I was soloing on the 10 minute game and I quite when the timer was down to 4 or 3 minutes. Not that it wasn't fun, but alot of the novelty is lost if you're not in a multiplayer game. As a fairly average game, there are things that could've been improved, but otherwise, it's not a bad 'catch.'
Rating Factors:
Terrain - 4/10
Gameplay - 5/10
Fun Factor - 4/10
Replay Value - 6/10
Story - 1/0 (Bonus Factor)
Other Factors:
Originality - 3/10
Complexity - 1/10
Difficulty - 2/10
5 / 10.0 - Overall
Interesting map. However, like dumbducky said, it gets boring after a while.
