Battlefield 1942 and UT series...but i chose BF1942
Well, I always liked the Timesplitters series, so I'll choose that.
Halo. I drive the warthog, my friend at the gun = pwnage.
yeah...i love halo...and the fact that you can kill yourself on the scorpion, and sending yourself up 50 feet into the air /w many grenades and a needler

BF 1942!!!!! It beats halo down to a crumbly smoldering piece of metal.(nah jk i think they are same)
I think i forgot to put in Battlefield: Vietnam
EDIT: W00T I have the largest army in SC armies!
REEDIT: ive been noticing that most of my topics in the off-topic and the general gaming forums have been quite popular...
I chose UT but I like red faction 1 and 2 about as much.
I dont think ill be seeing very many ppl choosing the "Click here if you dont play 1st person shooters"... lol
CS, I suppose, since thats the only games we installed on the school computers. I play Halo on the XBox with friends, but I prefer PC shooters over consoles.
Halo and Half-Life/Team Fortress Classic.
i cant' believe Golden Eye isn't on there.. it's the best FPS since... FPS existed
Halo. My friends and I do capture the flag in Blood Gulch. My team always loses.
Far Cry is better then Halo, but you'd have to play it to know what lm talking about.
It's a toss-up between Half-Life (and Opposing Forces and Blue Shift expansions) or the Doom series. Depends on my mood. For a long, plot-driven, exciting gaming session, Half-Life wins. For fast-paced carnage, Doom. Wow. I feel old, lol. I think I'm one of the only people here who didn't choose Halo or BF. Halo is only so-so, in my opinion. And I think BF totally sucks. Way too slow of a shooter, seriously. I hate realism in my shooters, so the fact that men in Battlefield crawling along at a "realistic" rate of 3 mph pisses me off. The Doom marine could own everyone in BF, all by himself. While they're crawling along like snails, shooting guns with "realistic" bullet spray (i.e. half the bullets don't go where you aim), the Doom marine would come chugging by at 30mph, spraying bullets everywhere, and slaughtering with his chainsaw. Now THAT'S a man.
If this was about third-person shooters I would choose Freedom Fighters (hey it has a first person aiming mode at least). The multiplayer is amazing with 2-4 players, and would have been even better with more game modes and maps.
Basically, in the multiplayer, each team (American or Soviet) starts with one man, the leader. There are four bunkers evenly spaced on the map, and you have to send your leader into an unoccupied bunker to take it over. When you have a bunker you can recruit up to 8 men per team (4 per person if there are 4 players playing) from the bunker.
The objective is to hoist your flag, typically on a flagpole in the middle of the map, and then keep it until the timer hits zero.
What makes the game great is the AI of your recruits and the ragdoll physics that provide plenty of laughs.
For example, I sniped my brother's leader in the head yesterday and it flung his body off the edge of a high building, smashing into various ledges on the way.
Or when his recruits tried to storm one of my bunkers, the first man ran up the bunker stairs and straight into a wall of AK-74 fire, which pushed him up against the guardrail of the stairs. The body then slid all the way down the rail.
Good times...
Oh yeah, this has little to do with FPS. Just remember that this game has a first-person element!
I put I don't play FPS's. I dunno why.
Counter-Strike all the way -_+
man golden eye was the like almost first FPS it was da
thats my fave my seocnd is UT all da way baby
and i hate halo cuz my f-ing comp doesnt know how to install it

cs, also golden eye rocks.. dont talk bad about it! and it was far from the first fps lol...
I really don't see what is so great about Counterstrike.
It is the most 'biased towards the better skilled team' game I have ever seen.
If you've heard about the biological concepts of positive and negative feedback, you'll know that positive feedback is generally a bad thing. This is exactly what operates in CS: The losing team isn't given a handicap, the game is actually made harder for them as they can only afford shoddy equipment whilst the winning team becomes increasingly tooled-up with nice weaponry.
The result can only be one thing: No fun for the team getting stamped on.
Blah i like both, cs and halo. CS, M4 OWNZ. HALO, GHOST TRICK ON BLOOD GULCH OWNZ, SNIPE IN THE SKY!!
I like The UT series exspecially 2004 VHEICLES and so muh blood and guts lol halo is good just lag destroys games.
um.. id have to go with time splitters 2
Timesplitters 2?
Good man!
Mm...Max Payne...Command and Conquer Renegade...Call of duty...No good first person shooters up there...But with the ones up there i go with Halo
