I REALLY think this would be sweet, because there ARE tons of professional gamers at these sort of games. It would be cool to watch actual live starcraft or w/e matches on TV of real professional gamers (and these guys are GOOD.) Even if it's something I don't play alot, like Counter-strike; I'll still watch it on TV.

And since the 2008 olympics will be held in china, this should really be appealing, because there's lot of asian countries who have professional gamers at these games.

Unfortunately, if this does get approved, they probably won't broadcast Starcraft in the USA, because we have no good american Starcraft gamers. However, in Canada, there's a REALLY uber played also known as "Testie," so the canadians would very likely cover his games.

Sounds pretty sweet to me, I already watch the olympics but this would be very cool!

Testie = Über Randomer ^.^

Tesite + Mondragon = my fav 2 players to look at.

and ArtOfTerran, but no one really knows about 'pro' sc players.

Because we're hermits. We live in a shell completely oblivious to what's going on outside of it. tongue.gif

It's an interesting idea, but the Olympics are supposed to be contests of physical ability, no?

I think computer games are a little out of place there..

I agree with DTBK. Besides, how do you decide what map to play?

GGL already has a set of maps that people have always been playing on.

Moving your fingers fast and clicking isn't physical? Nor is synapses firing in your brain?

It'd just be weird to see all these muscular, athletic looking people coming in and then all of a sudden there are people with bad cases of acne on their faces who aren't very muscular. Also, some of the best pro gamers are fat.

It'd be cool to watch SC matches, I guess, but... it doesn't belong in the olympics tongue.gif

I'd like to see other games than CS or SC.. I'd rather see something like a Rome: Total War battle, or stuff.

And how do you watch SC over TV? Who's screen does it follow, etc.?

Dude. That would be so cool. Like if we had professional commentators. smile1.gif
