I threw this map together in a short area of time. (Right after watching the new micro post in null.) And this is what i came up with.

One player at each courner, and quite a few expansions scattered all over the map. Not alot of room to build so i know it wont be too easy to just mass air. The point of it is to force players into improvising good tactics to fight through the maze of jungle and minerals. I think i just may have acoomplished that.

LOL valug... I will just comment there is absolutely no doodads. Too many minerals all over the map. Too many minerals at the base. Too many unbalanced stuff all over the map.

Generally, according to MilleniumArmy, there is supposed to be only 8 minerals, not 13 or 15. I'll call up MA to comment on this.

This is an interesting diamond shape... Well besides the interesting figure, I'd like to say that this map has a whole lot of things wrong with it:

1.) The bases are so uneven, even seasoned players will have trouble micro and macro managing units. Take the bottom left base for example, the four pillars obviously make that a great plus for Terrans but what about the other two races? Hydralisks? Dragoons?!

2.) There are way too many minerals. Are you really forcing players into improvising good tactics?

3.) The terrain seems so bland...

DarkBlood, I'm going to tell you to really consider balance and equality through out your melee maps. That would make your maps playable (and likeable). Keep on map making and you'll improve!

[sub]Heres my say about it, stick with UMS. That is the most boring and ugly map I have ever seen.[/sub]

It's extremely unbalanced, its quite ugly, too many minerals in random spots. Im not trying to be harsh, but really who would play this? It needs a bit more attention to detail imo.

Reasons why certain things are certain ways:
1) I HATE running out of minerals for any reason. However money maps just have far too much.
2) It wasnt supposed to be balanced, i didnt want it that way. Each base has its own advantages and disadvanteges. People will have to play from each spot and learn how to kill the others.

Examples:
Top left can easily run through the left side down to bottom right because its a pretty direct path. A siege tank/goliath combo would be best. (IMO)

Top right can easily fly over bottom rights top wall because theres no room to build turrets.

I guess you haven't seen any of the Melee maps I made when I was 10.

This map would only be good for some campaign mission. For multiplayer, its just too plain looking for it to be any real fun.

This map is worthy of the Insurrection campaign disc

well, i can understand why some people want to play unbalanced maps, but if your going to have this kind of thing, you have to pay attention to some details atleast.

Minerals are the biggest issue, if they cannot be reached by workers that are mining from that line then they will go off and try to find an alternate route to them. have no more than 10 at a line and spaced well for easy mining.

The spread out patches throughout the map are just an inconvenience, they wont make the game any more fun or exciting. In fact, they wont be used, so really, there arent as many useable resources in this map as you thought.

Once you fix this, some people who like this kind of stuff may be interested. but good luck finding those people.
