Staredit Network

Staredit Network -> SCMDraft -> Glitches for SCXE from SMCDraft

I have noticed that when I use SCMDraft while making a map and I open up X-tra Editor, only where I didn't put terrain in SCMDraft it was all sorts of terrain but it wasnt really there.

I have also noticed that comments and displayed text messages sometimes switch with each other. ranting.gif

I don't really understand, but do you mean the black terrain? That's first row null. Yea, it does mess up in SCXE. Just use SCMD for everything, or just ignore it.

First one I don't understand; can you please clear it up?

Second one is due to SCMD2 automatically recycling strings. SI said he'd add it in as an option in the next version, but who knows when that will be.

You can unrecycle strings in uBe3. I'm pretty sure that works well. Worked most of the time in my tests. If not, give me the map please.

To be honest, I dont use X-tra Editor that much. I think SCMDraft2 Is better smile.gif. Whats so good about X-tra? Why does it have all those editors. The only thing that is better is that It has the colors u can put in forces and stuff. If SCMdraft had that, It would pwn biggrin.gif.

And Not to be a noob or anything, But what r strings used for??? I never really looked at the string editor in like starforge or Scmdraft2. Can anyone help me out and tell me what they were really made for??

And also is Uberation3's main reason is to protect maps?? Or is it like sum kind of mini editor? (I have it right now)

In SCMD, <#> stand for colors. In game, 1 and 2 are the default blue, 3 is yellow, 4 is white, 5 is gray, 6 is red, 7 is green, and 8 is invisible. C is overlap back, and R is overlap front. wink.gif

Strings are the names of stuff, like unit names, comments, location names, displayed text, etc.

Uberation is a protector with extras, like CUWP editor and un/recycling strings. It's very useful.

O ok so like doing 1Bounders would make the force blue???? But w/e i might use another editor or the SC dialog Box v2. smile.gif But thnx anyways

I've never heard of CUWP Editor. Dont know hwat it stands for either...

CUWP = Create Units With Proporites.

And it would be <1>

That just happens because staredit and Xtra dont read null right so it comes up as other tiles used to fix this but if you do like 4 fog of war layer switching between that and what u want u can make it null again until u move your screen

It isnt really a big deal tho because your isom layer green block doesnt leave marks on the real terran nor does it save for starcraft

there is another thing wrong with it if u stack units in Scmdraft then open up Xtra Editor and it says X amount of unit were placed in invalid areas but lets say i had a bunker then put one on top but had like 6 grid spaces open were the 2 buildings were placed it extra just deletes it but since the pixel size placeing is in extra if i did the same thing no error pop up. why is that? why dont they fix it?
why can they make Briefing and triggers be choosable like if u want to type them in or if you want to click new/players/conditions/actions?
plus if i place rectangular terrian off the map it says error there is a bug and thats just anoying when trying to work. and sumtimes Scmdraft just exits itself out ehy?!?!

Clear english?
I think what your saying is in X-tra Special mode if you stack 2 things they don't get erased?
This is because they are not placed directly on top of eachother, each building takes up a pixel in X-tra therefor they have different coordinates that are 1 pixel different.

In Scmdraft 2 you can place buildings directly on top of eachother, and X-tra simply can't have 2 buildings with the exact some coordinates.

In Xtra, everything takes up 1 pixel, and there's no stacking allowed.
