unsure.gif I was working on my map when Xeno(U) suggested making things happen differently during Night/Day and I wanted to know if I could make it so that the player could see less effectively at night such as make fog of war appear faster only during night or have it so that you can see less during night than you could during day. Or if there was a way to make the map darken so it is harder to see? helpsmilie.gif

Well you could make a medic blind you at night and restore you in the day but that might be a little hard to do. Here's another Idea though. At the beginning of map, make sure vision is unshared with yourself and place an observer over your unit that follows you and call it "Sight" or whatever you want, and make sure it has range upgrade. Then when night comes, remove it and it will look like vision has been reduced.

Thnx I didn't think of that I think I will use that one with the observer unless I get an idea for something better. biggrin.gif

I think the easiest way is to have a computer medic blind you/ restore you as SiLeNT(U) said.

Another way(not so good) is to have 2 areas the same but one is always blind/dark and the other is not. Just move units from one to the other when day/night.

Moving units from area to area won't be so good, and i don't think it's efficient to make 2 terrains which are identical.

If you can make the medic restore and blind, use it it's great.
if you can't I would have to suggest the observer.
Make 2 comps, one with sight upg, the other without.

At daytime, use comp's obv with upg.
During the night use the one without.

another idea would to place map revealers during the day and at the night have them unvison you, that way you can't see squat, only yourself.

I suggest creating seperate units for the player, one blinded, one unblinded. Have one get blinded in the corner of the map by the computer (preferably while under the control of a computer, so the player never sees this "corner setup". Then when night comes, switch the two units. That to me seems the most professional way of doing it without having to have some observer following you around.

I saw a map with kinda the same idea Beer Keg posted... durning the day you could see everything durning the night you had an observer follow you that was controled by a computer as your "light"

Sala's Idea is good...I have one about the same thing as it but kinda...not about blinding crap.

Just put a friendly Vulture Spider mine under the player it has very little site and stuff then put like a ling or defiler under it in day....no wait thats crappy that will slow down the unit nvm sala's idea is good

Lexmark has the right idea, do the blinding thing and unally vision with a computer for night, but in the day ally vision (you cannot get rid of blindness) and then it would look different
