Ok, I got a new computer so I was setting up what files I want to open with what..
Well on MPQs I did "Open With" and browsed for WinMPQ and pressed "Open". It did not put it on the list but I clicked "Ok" because I did not check. (I found that after I pressed Ok)
Now it opens with some gay HP Photo thing and I want to remove that from the list, but I can't find any file type list thing in the Control Panel or settings to change this.
How can I remove things from the "Recommend Programs" list?
And why wont it let me add WinMPQ to the list?

Right Click + Open With > Choose Program > *choose program* + Use this to open always.

That is what I was talking about. Its different than the Win98 which is what I am used to.. so that is how I typed it.

Go to Tools->Folder Options...->File Types. That's where the file types can be edited. If you delete the extention, then re-add it, it should clear the recommended programs list....plus you can also set the default program there too.

I did that (with RegEdit though.. should I add and delete?) and it still did not work.
Plus I cannot add WinMPQ to the Program List still.

ADDITION:
Ok I got it so it wont automatically open with whatever I clicked. But I still can't get WinMPQ in the program list.

hmmm...what happens if you browse for WinMPQ when you go to open with? Normally, that's how I add programs to the list....

No matter what I try, it will not add it to the list. Ever. End of story.
How do I remove programs from the "Recommended Programs" list? If I put WinMPQ into a subfolder called "WinMPQ" it will be in the Recommended Programs already.

ADDITION:
I fixed it after much registry searching (and now my SCDowngrader works biggrin.gif I don't know how they are related, but it worked). It had "WinMPQ\WinMPQ\WinMPQ.exe", so a "ShadowFlare MPQ Archiver" already was there, but did not exist.

I still want to know how to remove that HP Photosmart thing from the recommended programs list.

...

1. I was saying that when I try changing what it opens with I could not get it on the list. I do know how. I am not a complete idiot.
2. I said I already fixed it.

Once again I go back to my old quote that people really need to do this thing called "reading". I know its hard, but it saves everyone a lot of trouble when posting.

(Sorry.. its just I get annoyed with this very often.)

Go there in registry and delete the value you don't want
