Staredit Network -> Melee Chat -> Fixed start locations for melee?

Just a question, since I have seen so much melee maps made for top vs bottom, but the random start location always ruins it. Is there a setting on the map, or ingame to make it top vs bottom? (No, the top vs bottom setting does not work)

go to forces under scenario, and uncheck random start locations.

That'll work if you play it in UMS, but not in melee. Right? mellow.gif

It won't work. I don't remember which but if you uncheck it, it will either not have computer AI in melee or it will still automatically have random start location. You can't rig a melee match that easily if it is all random locations.

Exactly why I asked. So then, theres no possible way to have fixed start locations for melee. I guess we could just rm the game until we get to our desired spots..or play it ums?
Anyways, thanks.

Well if you're playing in UMS then you can take off "Random Start Location" it just won't work if you have computer players and remember to make it Player selectable for the race. Yeah you can always just remake for the random spots, that will work.

Wasn't it always the blizzard team maps that were like "Use Map Settings for Team Play"? For maps like Opposing City States?

Just make it UMS, melee starting triggers with forces coinciding with the slots. Or you could always do the idea of saying which side you are on when the game starts and allying up, but that doesn't work well if you always play with a friend or teammate.
