Staredit Network -> Computers and Technical -> Looking for flexible game to mod

So recently I've taken up an interest in Bot programming. I simply LOVE writing scripts for bots that learn and adjust, and then pit them against each other with varying differences in their scripts and seeing which one comes out on top.

In any case, modding Half-Life has become rather dull. The bots only have the ability to move and shoot, not very flexible to say the least.

So are there any games out there with more flexible Bot-modding abilities? I tried using Oblivion, but you can hardly control their combat behavior. You can't get them to work in formations or cover each other, bleh. Even worse than Half-Life.

So yeah, anybody got any games that are more bottable? cool1.gif

Try out Unreal TOurnament 2003/and upper versions.

The bots are much less-boty like in other games, I think.

yeah, UT2004 has a quite interesting scripting language, which the bots AI, and everything else is written in. I find it alot like java disgust.gif . This page describes AI in UnrealScript wiki.beyondunreal.com/wiki/Artificial_Intelligence

Try modding a Bot for a MMORPG or a regular RPG, one that will be a partner or a real time opponent. That'd be so cool.
