Post Your CPU speed and RAM and the time taken to Calculate 1 million Decimal Points. Make sure u select 1M (1million Decimals) Before u start.
World record for normal PC is 17.987s on a P4 clocked to 7.36GHz!! for 1M decimals. Run with no programs running!

my computer does :

16k : at .438 seconds
1m : at 44.172 seconds
16m : at 17 minutes 1.563 seconds

But I had EternalChat, iTunes, 7 folders, WinMPQ, TBLPad, StarGraft, IceCC, MemGraft, DatEdit, FireFox, Trillian, StealthBot, VNC, Fraps, ATI Control Panel, ZoneAlarm and AVG Free running.

You managed to calculate 1 million in 6.882s? That means, if it is true (which I don't think), you beat the world record by a lot. I'm going to post my results as soon as it's done calculating the 16million one.

1M: 56.703 seconds
16M: 22minutes 14.421 seconds

intel pentium D 955 dual core 3ghz per core, 4mb total L2 cache
my mistake, 2 sticks of 1 gb high performance dual-channel RAM = 2gb in all
200gb western-digital caviar
XFX overclocked NVIDIA 512mb GeForce 7800GTX
VERY LOUD, VERY HOT, playing high-performance games = around 90 *C after an hour. Luckily minor system damage occured since I put a 18" fan right on top of it

lucky me tho it still gets pretty hot in games such as quake 4 or f.e.a.r. when played at max settings, 16x AA, 32x AF, 1920x1440(nearly 3 mega-pixels)... shall I put a 200" fan? lmao they need to focus more on the cooling.
my computer is very hot, i will retest when i restart it.
the only program i had running was zone-alarm free trial

warning if you do this like me: the games can get VERY choppy at times, especially if your system is hot.
i will edit this when im done testing how far it goes till it crashes

My friend overclocked a 1.5GHz athlon 64 to 3.6GHz with liquid nitrogen cooling. Try some of that

36.766 sec.

AMD Athlon 4000+ at 2.4 GHz and 2GB of RAM.
