How come whenever I make a map then test it on battle.net it messes up like instead of 1 it makes two units for a create unit trigger? Why does it do this? blink.gif

It's because the trigger belongs to a Force. Give it to each player individually and it should work. I don't have time to go into the dynamics of Forces vs Players and the problems you can run into right now, so just remember this: If there are multiple players in a game and the conditions for a trigger belonging to their Force are met, the trigger will fire for each player.

Ok thanks I've had problems with several of my maps because of that, now i know to make triggers for each person not the force. w00t.gif

Well, I'm not saying you shouldn't use Forces. I use them when I want an effect to happen for each "Current Player" in the game. But I always make sure that they include an action the prevents them from meeting their own conditions if I only want a particular event to happen once instead of several times.

If your force is players 1-4 then a trigger owned by that force will act the exact same way 4 copies of that trigger would, one owned by each of those players.

Exactly. People make the mistake of putting "Create 1 unit for P1, Create 1 unit for P2", etc. Then it fires for both players and they end up with two units each.

Ok so what your saying is that I should be careful not to make the same trigger twice when I only want it to happen once.

No, Nozumo is just complicating things. Go by what Bolt said; a trigger owned by a force runs once for each player in that force.

Man, why is it that 0 people have ever tried to spell my name right on the first try.

I'm not complicating it, he just misunderstood me. There's a difference. And I was talking to Bolt about how people screw this stuff up, so that part didn't even concern him.

Your posts merely obfuscates the conversation. (and adds minerals!) What bolt said is easily understandable and did not need to be "explained"

Word of the Day: Obfuscate - (v) - To uneccisarily complicate something (ie. obfuscate a conversation.)

Aight do this instead.

Make a trigger for 1 player to create 1 unit.
Copy it the times you gonna use it for players.
Change what player it is for.

Your done, basicly what Nozomu(it isn't really hard at all to write it) and Bolt said but much moe simpler.

Okay, dude, in my second post I wasn't talking to ShadowSnipe4. It was a response to Bolt, confirming what I thought was a funny happenstance that he and I have come across a hundred times in the past few years. It was completely unrelated to my explanation of the problem. So bug off and stop giving me crap, already.

That is the obfuscate post and that adds minerals. Stop spamming battlekruser!
