ok, i'm making a map and i have 3 differnt map making things i have:

* Scmdraft 2.0 (beta 0.6.0)

* SC X-tra Editor

* StarFroge Pluse

Those are the 3 map making progames i have as well as the orgianl Starcraft campaign Editor. I have a good idea for a map, but i dont know wich progame to use. Or, should i use all 4 to make a map? Or i could use all of the but starcraft campaign editor? Well? wich one should i use??? confused.gif

Well I only use SCMDraft 2 and X-Tra Special Mode to do any of my map making/creating.

I use X-Tra normal mode for terrans and unit placing, for further units placing, i use Special mode at second and i finish with SCMDraft2 for the terrans and sprites... (i use X-tra editor for triggers and locations)

i use scmd2 for terrain, unit placement and sprites and Xtra(special mode) for triggers and unit placement.

due to some problems with with switching between editors, i usually use them in this order:

scmd2(basic terrain, basic unit placement)
xtra(triggers, some more unit placement)
scmd2(sprites, extended terrain, advanced unit placement, and touchup trigger work)

after i finish with xtra, i usually don't go back because xtra will remove sprites and stacked units.

I use SCMD for everything except the briefing, which I use SF for. So you should use SCMD; it has everything that Xtra and SF has (except for stupid briefings... pinch.gif)

Well if your making a map without starforge just forget about custom terrain and stuff..

I never see any use for scxe anymore

Use SCMDraft2. It can do everything SF can do (better too), except for briefings.

It also doesn't mess up your ISOM like SF does.

EDIT:

fr0St_LunaTiC: I really can't see what flaming does in this case. Anyway, look at this:

Also of course:

SCMDRAFT2 has zooming, creep, plyon auras, ISOM that works, TWO trigger editors, Fog of war, rectangular terrain, tileset indexed terrain, and can copy paste terrain and units.

Ok... listen frost lunatic, i guess you did'nt understand; We are not talking about scm, we are talking of SCMDraft2, if SCM is how you call SCMD2 its messing me up, and if you just dont know SCMD2, you should know that you can download it in the DLDB and its the same as SF(StarForge) but in better ('cept for briefing)

So, i hope you now know what SCMD2 is or know that saying scm mess somme ppl up! happy.gif

This is not flaming, i"m just explaining something to you wink.gif

SCMDraft 2 i most likely use now. I agree with everything MindArchon Posted. SCMDraft helps alot. Thanks SI. tongue.gif

Also, Starforge Plus is not as good as StarForge 2.2. Not that it matters or anything. happy.gif
