helpsmilie.gif Dumb as I am, and being a modder in the starting phase, I wonder if it's possible to add new units to the game, and if it is, how.
I also need some info on SCMloader, like what kinds of mods you can load into SC.

If you want to include brand new units in SC without replacing some other stuff like flags and psiemiters, you'd have to hex edit the exe, which is really hard..

About SCMloader, i dunno haven't really tried it yet..

You can't really 'add' new units to the game... BUT, you can use some of the hero slots and turn them into more useful units. I mean, was there ever any use for Tassadar/Zeratul (Archon)? How about Magellan? Sarah Kerrigan? Tassadar? Fenix? They're dead now; use them. To make them buildable though, you're going to have to do some button editing, using StarGraft and MemGraft. If you look around on this website you'll find tutorials for StarGraft and MemGraft, most likely. Actually, just wait a few more minutes and DTBattlecruiser will pop in here and link them for you.

Oh, and if you want to add new graphics for these new units, use graphics no one likes like Overmind (Cocoon), or some of the unused ones, like Venom (Unused Zerg Attack).

lol, with arsenal III u can add files and do a whole bunch of stuff u wont know how to do and make elmo lings, lol, but its very complicated i cant even do it. and u cant add new units normally, its pretty much impossible, u can edit units, but no new ones. such as infested protoss=renegade, i dont know what forum it was in but it shows different types of units

Actually, Arsenal III replaces files, not adds new files tongue.gif

Also, you should be using DatEdit instead, it is alot better and safer to use than Arsenal III

It's not complicated at all. You'll be surprised how easy it is to get the hang of it. DatEdit is especially wonderful and user-friendly. Start with that, then work your way towards using StarGraft, editing stat_txt.tbl, and editing the wireframe grp files (wirefram.grp, tranwire.grp, grpwire.grp), and maybe even the command buttons grp (cmdicons.grp). That's all there is to it. Work your way to learning all of that (easier than it sounds), and you'll have all you need. A tutorial is the best way to start, really.
