I was going to make a game like this... but much much much more complex...
I only have the halo demo, so I was thinking of making the Blood Gulch arena
you can choose from different modes in the beginning
Slayer = 25 kills
Capture the Flag 3 or 5 flags
Team Slayer = team score of pre determined ammount
Oddball = you have to carry the skull for 2 minutes to win, when you have the skull you can only use it as a weapon
King of the Hill = you must be in an area for 3 minutes to win.
each mode ends in 15 minutes...
after you choose a mode, you choose a mod
normal ( 2 warthogs, 1 banshee, guns in normal spots on each side of the map)
Tanks (1 tank 1 warthog 1 banshee and guns in normal spots with a rocket launcher in each base)
Tanks Ghosts and Turret (1 tank 1 ghost beside each base, and a plasma turret (shade) on each base and a rocket launcher in each base.)
Sniper (you can only use sniper guns to kill people, and use melee combat, no grenades)
3 weapons (you can carry 3 weapons, and guns normal place) instead of 2
covenent vs humans (1 base will have covenent weapons, and vehices with shad (plasma turret), while other side has human weapons and vehicles, sniper rifles in cave and hill)
each mode keeps the powerups in the center of the map
powerups
Invisible (you are invisible for 30 seconds)
Shield Boost (you have extra shields for 1 minute)
health pack (heals your health)
Your shields automatically heal if not under attack for more than 10 seconds, it takes 5 seconds to heal fully from 0%
if a team game, you will have 2 teams of 3 or 4 if I dont make it really complex...
the weapons you can have are:
Pistol
Assault rifle
fragmented grenades
plasma grenades
sniper rifle
shotgun
plasma rifle
plasma pistol
needler
plasma grenade
rocket launcher
fuel rod
flamethrower
gravity gun
in team modes you start with 4 frag grenades an assault rifle and a pistol
in slayer/ffa modes you start with a plasma pistol.
Vehicles you can use are:
Banshee (flys and shoots duel plasma guns with a fuel rod cannon)
Warthog (with rocket or machine-gun turret) and 1 passenger who can use their current gun and grenades.
tank (scorpion) shoots explosive and machine gun with 4 passengers who can use their current gun and grenades.
ghost (1 man vehicle, duel plasma guns)
I was thinking of every1 being a marine for most guns... and shoot interceptors,
Sniper rifle will be immediate, so no interceptor shooting, it will just be immediate damage
Flamethrower will be a firebat
rocket launcher, the 1 warthog and fuel rod guns will be scourge.
assault rifle will shoot 12 interceptors a second with 60 rounds so 5 seconds, does most damage short range.
pistol will shoot 2 shots every 3 seconds of 12 rounds so 9 seconds, good range, but more accurate and more damage close range. as a marine
sniper rifle can zoom in to see entire map, you aim with an observer, unless i find a better way..
rocket launcher as a marine shoots scourges and explodes, kills instantly in a 2x2 location gets rid of all shields in a 3x3 location and destroys 50% of shields in a 4x4 location and 10 % of shields in a 5x5 location.
Fuel Rod 100% shields in a 2x2 location 50% in a 3x3 10% in 4x4 location
shotgun if close radius kills in 2 shots if far radius it misses..
that is basically what I am going to do for guns
most gun damage will be random from 0% of its damage to 100% of its damage to do the body hit and head hit and a miss. most commonly will be 40% damage, more accurate guns will have a higher average damage.
I might have your minerals as your shield percentage
and your gas as your health points so you know how much life you have left
I will use death counts to keep everything in tact.
you will be able to switch teams to keep stuff even, If you kill 4 of your own team players you are banned.
i am basically making this game exactly the same as the demo for mac
are there any EUD conditions to check unit health points?
