To be honest, it looks like it will only be as good as the other two Spiderman movies. My guess for the black suit is that it has something to do with Venom considering that in some scenes, black liquid was seen going on the suit.

Wait, I havent seen the teaser trailer yet, but isnt that black suit just because of lighting effect? I mean isnt it just becuase its dark outside... Meh I cant see trailer, stupid computer...

The costume is black because the symbiote from space that created Venom chose Peter Parker to be its host.

In the trailer you see him the light with the black suit on, so it's not lighting. But I thought so too.

In the Amazing Spider-Man... or is it the Ultimate Spider-Man (can't remember), Venom was just that black goo you saw. It would take over whatever it touched, and control it. In the comics, Spidey was barely able to fight out of it, but another one (one of the bad guys) used it on himself to become pretty strong and fight Spidey. While you see Spidey obviously with Venom on him, my guess is that Venom will be used in the movie to create a villian. Also, Osborn's son is back as the Green Goblin, heh heh.

Guys, Venom IS in the movie. Just because you didn't see him in the trailer in his normal appearance doesn't mean he's not in it. Topher Grace plays the role of Venom. Who's Topher Grace? Topher Grace is the guy that plays as Eric Forman in "That 70s Show". Thomas Haden Grace, the guy in George of the Jungle who played as Lyle, is acting as Sandman. Last, we all know who plays as the Green Goblin. Do not question this. I've yet to find anything false on this movie site.

i dont think the name of the symbiote is venom..i think the guy who got fused with the symbiote after spiderman got rid of it was called venom

-Venom in his ambiguity is not counted as a villain. Chances are, he helps Spiderman. My guess would be that the symbiote transfers thoughts from Venom to Spiderman and vice versa.

It's not the Green Goblin, he's Hobgoblin.
Venom is the goo, and he originally comes back on the spaceship of the guy who was dating Spiderman's girlfriend. I just got up, can't remember name.
The astronaut is who wears the goo after Spiderman gets it off, I think.

That'd be nice to believe, but there's no real proof that he's in the film as a character (Until video footage is shown). And by the way to word "Venom" is never shown in the entire cast listing. It's said that there will be four villans shown here: click

If you can't find out what I'm talking about. And it's not Hob Goblin, Hob Goblin is completely different from Green Goblin, there are actually four green goblins in the comics. The dad (Forgot name), Harry, Harry's Psychatrist, and some other random guy I forget how he was related to anything. So it's Green Goblin 2. Sandman everyone know about, and Venom will be shown either in essence like shown in the teaser or a real character. However the real character is not confirmed yet. Though it's said to be "Double Trouble" so i'm guessing Green Goblin and Sandman will be the big people to watch out for while whoever the mysterious fourth villan and Venom will stick to the sides. Which supports the idea that Venom is not a character, or at least, not yet. My guess is this is the 3rd spiderman film and the forth one will be the last one. So Venom will probably be in the forth movie. But everything around Venom is still a mystery, nothing is confirmed about a real actor playing Venom.

Oh i just saw the trailer at IGN, the offical site didnt work for me :\... Wow, it seems like a lot of characters are coming out.... and i can tell tobey is getting a little old... it has been almost 7 years since spiderman one so yea... i heard that their making like 7 spiderman movie total, well atleast thats what stan lee wants. And Stan Lee probablly will die after the 5th movie... Is it hob goblin or green goblin, i always thought the 2nd one was hob goblin XD... Now we need carnage XD, and iv never seen sandman before but seems interesting. Wow their is lots of characters... i thought that lizzard guy was coming out in this movie... becuase in spiderman 2 you saw the professor and he didnt have a arm

Venom is probably not a major role. It's probably more so Eddie Brock. His character probably develops through the story and at the end becomes the Venom we know and leaving us for a Spiderman 4 movie with Venom and Carnage. Just a guess.

I think the badguys will be spread-out equally. And in the Trailer Venom looks like a main villan(since its the part where hes joined with spiderman.

Umm, the alien symbiote suit isn't Venom. Venom is when the alien symbiote suit merges with Eddie Brock to form Venom.
