SEN metalheads (be there any), show yourselves!
Any points about specific bands, genres, albums are welcome.
This isn't meant for people to go "omg metal sucks it's just noise", because 99% of the time that means at least one of three things:
1. The person has no idea what metal is and/or how to differentiate between metal and general rock/nu-metal.
2. The person has no concept of how much diversity there is within metal, and is basing their statement(s) off only a few bands (alternative to #1).
3. They're a generic pop-rock fan who can't stomach anything beyond effect laden vocals.
So, bring out your metal horns and bark at the
in' moon!

Not exactly metal, but everything up through Shadow Zone was all right.
Currently my favorite band is Mastodon, though the 'favorite' slot changes a lot.

I lean more torwards metalcore, hardcore, and screamo. 
However, don't tell me you don't like As I Lay Dying, In Flames, Trivium, and The Fall of Troy. I could list all my bands if you'd like. What do you listen to? I'll show you mine if you show me yours.
Oh, you might have noticed At the Drive-In in my signature. They're softer than most of the stuff you probably listen to, but you should still listen to Cosmonaut, it's an amazing song.

I do like In Flames but I greatly prefer the 1994-1999 material. I'm much fond of metalcore.

I only like the Johan Liiva era Arch Enemy (their first three albums), 1998's Stigmata being my favorite. Everything with Angela Gossow on it is garbage, both vocally and musically.

Album-wise that would be To Mega Therion, Coma of Souls, South of Heaven, and Rust in Peace.
Did Slayer play 'The Antichrist'? In my opinion that's their best song ever.

Right now I'm listening to He Is Legend - The Seduction. It's not quite metal but I'm hooked. Anyways, nobody mentioned HORSE the Band yet. They're legendary.
