I saw it today, and surprisingly despite the worst trailer ever made in exsistance, it was actually really good. Kevin Spacey does a good job in the film as Lex Luthar, and all the comedy you find is not cheesy or corny, but actually funny. There's only two points that I don't get:
A) Why they casted Kumar from Harold and Kumar go to White Castle as a bad guy
(Spoiler Warning, highlight below)
B) Superman dies at the end, but they never explained how he magically got better and could live again.
C) The whole son being a new superman seemed like a crappy sequel would come soon

(End of spoiler)
There are suppose to be two more superman films and I'm looking forward to them. It was a good film, all should see it. And Kate Bosworth looks alarmingly close to Rachel McAdams from Wedding Crashers:

I didn't like the blatant christian metaphors, I saw it today as well.

You mean superman saving the earth, then dieing and getting reborned.... man all movie seem to do that now XD...

and Golden-Fist i totally agree on your c part... i think that killed the movie for me... other than that everything else was fine, good movie. But serioulsy wtf was up with the kid...

but you know what was amazing, Brandon Routh looks just like Christopher Reeve yawn.gif, and its sad how Christopher and his wife died cry.gif , they seriously were good people...

Saw this two days ago with a friend. It was nice, and I didn't even notice what Dema said, but now that I think about it...

I liked when the kid threw the piano at the other guy... That was funny.

Best new superhero movie yet (like year 2000 and beyond period). By the way, Superman was just in serious condition. They had to use that "shocking machine" in the hospital because he was dead for like ten seconds. I don't think that was a Christian symbol.

I'm glad Brian Singer casted who he did. For example, Lois Lane isn't drop dead gorgeous, but she's still very pretty.

Well... Considering myths around those "shocking machines"... They aren't used to bring people back to life. They're used to STOP a heart's pulse when irregular elecrical signals are going through the heart. This allows the brain to start it again normally.

And he DID die, I have no idea what you're talking about. Seeing as there was a big newspaper headline "SUPERMAN IS DEAD" and that his HEART STOPPED... Those might've been hints that he died.

OMG SPOILER

He didn't die. He was a vegetable, but he wasn't dead. He got better...just needed some rest and sunshine after liften a frickin contenent of kryptonite into the sun. And the son is very likely...Lois and Superman get it on in the series and in Superman 2...I think.

And a sequal? Hell, this is a sequal! How many other superman movies are there...not to mention the old series! (not smallville). That's why the movie had so many vintage themes. I thought it was outstanding, an excelent continuation of the past series of movies.

Anyone who has seen the past movies realizes they all go through the same motions.

Lex is 'dead' but comes back by some miracle. Superman tries to stop him, Lois gets involved, Lois gets knocked out, Lois should be dead by now, kryptonite is used, Superman gets weak, Lois gets more time by side-tracking the competition, Lois gets beat up again, Superman gets pissed, Superman almost dies, Superman lives, world gets saved, and Lois makes hot passionate sex with him.

Well. That last part not always. tongue.gif

I bed you would like to replace "Lois Lane" with "Kame", atleast on that last part. =P

Hey, you know what, I wouldn't mind that, because superman is a stud. smile.gif

Good to know, the trailer didn't look to appealing and i felt it was going to be a big stupid. I like how you placed it. I may look into it and it doesn't seem that bad really. I'm glad it's not bad acting.

Well... Kate Bosworth looks older. By the way, the newspaper reading "Superman is Dead!" means nothing. Remember, there was another newspaper right beside it that read "Superman Lives!" so the Daily Planet would be covered no matter what happened to him.

I saw it, and thought it was a really good movie. Sort of knew what would happen the whole time though.

The soundtrack is good too smile.gif

Take notice how Superman now stands for "Truth, Justice, and Other Stuff" instead of "Truth, Justice, and the American Way".

Yeah, I noticed that. It seemed more of the character's way of speaking than any intentional Anti-Americanism.

Don't know who said this but the whole Superman is Dead article, is completely void when they cut to the next scene and he starts talking to his son.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Killer_Kow(MM) on 2006-07-17 at 13:21:01
That's because he came back to life... Obviously... You know when your heart stops for a day you don't usually keep living.

I think you're under the impression that you're making any sense at all.

What? What YOU just said made no sense at all.

I said he died.

Then you said he didn't.

Then I said he died but obviously came back to life.

That makes perfect sense to me...

And plus, there was more things in between the superman is dead article and him talking to his son. Lois came to visit him because he was dead, and such.
