This is chapter II of the fan fiction series I'm writing.

I didn't get any replies for chapter I in my story so I'm submitting chapter two anyway in hopes that people actually give their thougts about this story. I suggest you read chapter I first, because this takes off exactly after chapter one.

Chapter II
The Hive

Raynor solemnly piloted a vulture towards Mar Sara. As the engine roared, and the vulture zoomed past the ground, a cloud of dust was left where he traveled, as the hover cycle’s jet pounded against the dusty ground. The depressing atmosphere of defeat still loomed in the air. Sarah Kerrigan, was his back passenger, and the other infantry units of Mar Sara, had a method of Transportation. Raynor worriedly thought of how to report his failure back in the swamp, but Kerrigan kindly laid a hand on his shoulder. Apparently, she had been reading his thoughts telepathically.

“Don’t worry Jim,” Sarah said as she gave an encouraging smile, “Aldus is a good man, he’ll understand.”

“I’ll be lucky if I’m not demoted,” Raynor said sourly, “but I doubt complaining will help, I’ll need to find a solution sooner or later.”

“We have landed in Mar Sara base sir.” a Marine said politely, as their transports stopped beside the heavy bunker fortifications. Raynor jumped off his Vulture.

“Let’s just get this over with.”

“I’ll come too,” Kerrigan, commented.

“I’ll enjoy the company.”

Raynor and Kerrigan entered Aldus’s office. As the doors slid open, they saw that everything was disorganized. Books lay scattered on the floor, paperwork was everywhere, and junk carpeted the floor. Apparently, his office was definitely not lavish, for Aldus was frantically working to organize some paper that Raynor couldn’t make out what they said. He was a tall lean man with long silvery hair that was tied behind his head. Aldus had misty blue eyes, and had wrinkles on his face.

“Sir?” Kerrigan tried to catch his attention. Aldus slid some paper to a corner of a desk. He tore his eyes away from them, and caught a quick glimpse of Sarah looking uneasily around his room. He then continued onto organizing his paperwork, and began a conversation,

“Ah Sarah, you probably notice this room is in disarray. I must be getting old; I’m losing my sense of organization. Therefore, we’ll need a new leader this year. I’ll retire, yes, I will do that. Go back to Earth, instead of protecting this planet from these bugging Zerg.” He sighed, “The job is getting harder, and it used to be simply defeating rebellions, on Mar Sara, keeping justice, and to continue our bequeathing knowledge. Right now the war is escalating between what aliens?”

“I’m sure you’ll do fine.” Sarah said

“Fine?” Aldus smirked “A man over 65 can’t do fine for a job like this; we require a younger more powerful leader, who can lead an entire army in the most desperate times. I’ll try to find one before my term expires which should be some time soon. I’ve been in wars and everything for over 40 years, I need a rest I have enough money to retire, and soon I hope I will be able to find a dedicated person.”

“I’m sure we will,” Sarah smiled weakly, she wasn’t so sure about what she said though

“Ahem,” Raynor thought to Kerrigan, who picked this thought telepathically.

“Uh Raynor wants to speak to you sir,” Kerrigan said in a neutral tone. Aldus had been too busy organizing paper work that he hadn’t noticed Raynor, for he kept his eyes on his task. Aldus looked up,

“Ah Raynor!” Aldus beamed, “how are you?”

“Fine sir,” Raynor lied; he did not feel fine at all.

“Now why are you two here?” Aldus asked Raynor and Kerrigan exchanged glances.

“My mission sir,” Raynor said uneasily, “the one on Dagon?”

“Dagon?” Aldus said dumbfounded, he thought for a few seconds, and lit up “Oh yes the mission where I sent you to destroy the Zerg threat, how did it go?”

“I failed sir,” Raynor said guiltily, but to his surprise, Aldus looked careless.

“It doesn’t matter son,” Aldus said, Raynor blinked

“Sorry, it doesn’t matter sir?”

“No not at all,”

“But what about the troops we lost?”

“No problem, we will recruit more, but I do have a new mission for you and Kerrigan.” Raynor tried to digest this all, first Aldus forgave him for a disastrous defeat, then he says that all losses will be covered up, and now he sends them on a mission.

“What is the mission sir?” Kerrigan asked, breaking Raynor’s line of thoughts.

“Well, we can’t afford to fail on this one,” Aldus said trying not to look at Raynor who felt his nervousness return.

“And?”

“You and Raynor must assail a Zerg Hive,” Aldus explained to Kerrigan, “You will receive some of Mar Sara’s most skilled warriors, and a remarkable army, you will need them. The Zerg base is heavily defended by structures, and more of those slimy critters. More importantly they have a lot of those mammoth like freaky things.”

“Ultralisks,” Kerrigan corrected,

“Yes, yes Ultralisks, you will have to penetrate their defenses, or do whatever it takes to blow up the hive, or kill it, or something. Contact Mar Sara if you need more reinforcements, and god help you if we can’t spare any. This mission is extremely important, because if you destroy the hive, many of the Zerg Hatcheries rely on that single Hive for it to give orders and think. This is not the case with normal Zerg bases, but the Hatcheries have lost their independency ever since the Hive provided auxiliary power for the Hatcheries, soon they made it their primary power. Mar Sara Officers will oversee your troops, and ensure that you will have plenty of ammo. Be ready for your mission by tomorrow, and meet outside the northern takeoff dock Alpha. Any questions?”

“No sir,” Raynor and Kerrigan said together.

“I’m going to destroy the Hive if it’ll be the last thing I do.” Raynor said determined when they walked out of Aldus’s office.

“Don’t worry about failing this mission Jim, when have the both of us ever let Aldus down?” Kerrigan said confidently

“Well there was Bontoa II,” Raynor said his lips curling into a smile, Kerrigan gave Raynor a playful shove.

“You set off that C-4 under the cave,”

“Well it was an accident; you know how I am with C-4’s.”

“I’ll make sure you don’t get even close to one this time Jim,” Kerrigan laughed. Having their moods lightened, they both cheerfully got ready for the mission that they would have to face.

The next day…

As Raynor and Kerrigan moved towards their Dropship, and the immense army prepared for their mission, Raynor waved to his mentor, General Hamlet. The Dropship started its engines. General John Hamlet had always been his friend and mentor; he had been with him at the beginning of his training. Raynor sometimes wished Hamlet was with him on one of the harder missions, instructing him on his tactics. As the Dropship hatch hissed open, they walked up the ramp, and saw the door hiss behind them.

The fleet of airborne units was like metal eagles shimmering in the air, as the sunlight reflected off the polished steel of the Battlecrusiers. The Wraiths looked like falcons soaring swiftly into the battle, and the ground troops looked like ants from where Raynor looked down on them from the digital window, but they were capable of mass destruction down where they were.

When Raynor’s troops landed and Jim Raynor and Sarah Kerrigan got out of the Dropship onto the dusty land, they saw that the terrain was fairly smooth, with quite a few boulders that blocked their way. The air smelled of foul Zerg creep that was not very far away.

“Let’s go with our first tactic,” Raynor said turning to Kerrigan. She nodded,

“I’ll lead the infantry diversion, while you get your tanks and other mechanical units to the left flank of the Zerg base. According to Aldus’s map, we should be able to penetrate the first line of defense.”

“Right and I’ll keep the air units landed for now.” They both worked to muster their forces.
************************************************************************
Kerrigan signaled the Marines to follow her behind the boulder, a few Ghosts stayed behind in case they needed backup in a trance. The Marines were stationed thoroughly throughout multiple boulders along the perimeter, and they pointed their rifles from different angles. The Firebats tried hard to stay concealed, but their large mass, and size made it quite difficult and they were ordered to charge up if the Zerg got too close to their infantry.
On her cue, Kerrigan and a few Ghosts sent a few grenades flying over the boulders. In a few booms, some purplish creep flew everywhere, and the blown up corpses of some Zerglings flew sky-high, due to the force of the explosion. The Marines positioned their Gauss rifled from behind the boulders and shot furiously through their aiming reticule. The rattling sound filled the air as any Zerg defenders were ripped up to shreds. The whizzing bullets pierced their rough carapace, and killed them in a cry of anguish as they fell face first into the ground. A small Zerg force turned their heads, and just as Kerrigan predicted they left their left flank, and romped towards Kerrigan’s strike force.

“Steady,” Kerrigan ordered her troops, “hold position as long as you can.”

Some of Kerrigan’s troops brought out their sniper rifles, and as they looked through the scope in mere concentration, they blasted away at the Zerg infantry in long range, and sent deadly bullets, and lasers shooting long range at them. Quite a few units were killed in the multiple blasts, but it was not enough to stop the Zerg from progress carelessly towards the Terran infantry. As the Hydralisks got in range, they flexed their muscular chest cavities, and fired needle spines, which narrowly missed the marines. Kerrigan silently gave them the order to immediately change weapons to Gauss Rifles. As they raised, the rifles shifting into combat position, the machine guns again rattled as they fired furiously at the Hydralisks. It took several impaler rounds to bring the bulky Hydralisks down. The Hydralisks retaliated as they unleashed a more powerful volley of needle spines, and this time their aim was better, breaking the skull of a few marines, as the needles pierced their powerful visor.

“Keep away your fear” Kerrigan said expressionless noticing the slightly intimidated marines, who just had their comrades’ fall before their very eyes.

“They’re too strong!” a marine roared over the sound of gunfire,

“Aim at their chest cavities where they shoot their spines,” Kerrigan ordered, “that part of the body isn’t protected by Carapace.” The marines exposed them self from the boulders more as they, tried frantically to aim at their chest cavities, but a few fell as they locked eyes, and head with the needles that came out of it. Most of the Marines however were lucky from their simulation target practice, and managed to get a few bullets impale the Hydralisks. The ground was beginning to be colored a crimson red, as blood of their fallen enemies carpeted it.

“Has Captain Raynor started his attack on the Zerg colonies yet miss?” A Marine asked,

“No, and I hope he will soon,” Kerrigan said, but they had been too busy attacking the Hydralisks that they were unaware of the miniscule Zerglings who had eluded their gazes, and now were closing up on them.

************************************************************************

Raynor unleashed the fury of his siege tanks on the sunken colonies at a safe range. In a bombardment of lethal shock cannons, he obliterated the sunkens one by one. His heavy artillery barrage was an unpredicted shock for the unwary Zerg. As a few Zerg broke off from their assault on Kerrigan, Raynor again told the tanks to send yet another volley of explosions. The Zerg died in massive groups, as they fell victims to the Siege Tanks very murderous explosion, but he had only seen a fraction of the Zerg force. The surprised Zerg tried to prevent further destruction of their base, so they dispatched a small force of Mutalisks to lay waste to their siege tanks.

“Sir,” the harsh breathing sound of a ghost emitted from behind him, “a force of Mutalisks are now advancing our position.” He had been scouting the area,

Raynor raised a brow, and brought a pair of binoculars to his eyes, and in the grey mist, and the foggy clouds, he could make out bird-like figures with wings. They merely looked like seagulls in the distance it looked like no threat, but he was not fooled by this. By looking at their flying speed, and their behaviors that would not match any seagull, he was absolutely positive that they were indeed Mutalisks, so he raised his comlink.

“We need goliaths on the double; the Mutalisks are advancing on our position.”

“Yes sir,” the mechanical voice of a goliath pilot replied to him. The black sleek Goliaths much like walkers, walked out into defensive position. Their legs, thunked on the ground as they walked, and the poised their missile launchers not far down from their machine guns, into the air. The Mutalisks advanced shooting disgusting acid Glave Wurms at the mechanical walkers when they were in range. The Toxic ball ricocheted off one Goliath to the next leaving a hissing limes green mark where the acid had hit. The Goliaths tried their best to eliminate this threat. In a bleeping sound, the missiles were rocketed to the air, in a minor explosion, the missiles affected the Mutalisks, and they screeched as some of them were severely wounded. Raynor commanded the Goliaths to hold their fire, some turned their heads at him unsure of this command, but they obeyed their orders. The Mutalisks gave another deadly shot of Glave Wurms, and some functions of the Goliaths started to shut down. There were holes in the Goliaths, as the vicious acid burnt thorough wires, and left frayed cords, and hissing metal. The Mutalisks kept their sharp red eyes focused intensively on their attack. In one move, Raynor told them to fire simultaneously, and they did firing hail of missiles in as they left behind a line of blue stream. The missiles were like a rain of arrows, and the Mutalisks had nowhere to dodge, in the frenzy, as they were shot down like crows, by a hunter. The lifeless body of the Mutalisks rained the ground, and made the Goliaths look more intimidating, as the venomous blood spilt on the creep.

Raynor turned his head to the Siege tanks and saw that they were faring ok. They shot blasts to repel any Zerglings. If any Zerglings started to tear at the Siege tanks there were a small force of Marines, and Vultures to attack them. Then the minor waves of Zerg stopped, and an eerie silence filled the air. There was no screaming of Zerglings and Hydralisks. The sounds of Goliaths were abruptly halted, smoke billowed from the shock cannons of the siege tanks but there were no explosion sounds. The marines did not dare to move an inch, or make a single clicking sound out of their rifles. The ion engines of the Vultures were very quiet. Raynor turned his head silently, and looked around. He could only hear the hissing of wind, and this did not feel comfortable. His other troops were looking around uneasily as well. A grey fog, mixed with a dense cloud of dust, swept in, clouding any long-range vision they had. Soon there was a sound, the sound of Zerg.

Soon Raynor could make out the intimidating shapes of the skull-like Hydralisk head emerge from the fog, as they looked menacingly at them. Its sickles were slowly coming into view, and its snake like body, sliding across the ground. They found a far more massive Zerg force behind it than they expected. A wall of shadow in the fog slowly emerged as Raynor was overwhelmed at the amount, of Zerg that were about to unleash their potential.

“FIRE!” Raynor bellowed, soon the noise of battle filled the air again, as the Siege tanks fired at the clumps of Zerglings and Hydralisks, but Raynor did not see just Zerglings and Hydralisks, he found a few Defilers leading the vile monsters. They slithered cunningly, as they unleashed an orange cloud over the Zerglings, and Hydralisks. The Zerglings stayed back but the Hydralisks remained as more Defilers created clouds of orange over the Hydralisks who had just begun shooting. The Siege Tanks bombarded the Hydralisks but they barely even flinched. The orange cloud acted as a barrier, and instantly he knew what it was.

“Dark swarm,” he cursed, and turned to Corporal Zen. We need you and the Firebats to close in on them. The Dark swarm acts like a barrier, and only you can do any damage to them.

“Sir, might I suggest there are few of us and we would be eaten alive before we could fire anything at them.” Zen replied shakily. Raynor peered over Zen’s broad shoulders, and saw only a few dozen Firebats. He had left most of them with Kerrigan.

“I need to call Kerrigan,” he muttered to himself, but before he could raise his comlink, he heard it signaling him, and instantly turned it on.

“Sarah is that you? I really need-” Raynor was cut off,

“No time to chat Jim I’m probably in a more desperate situation than you are.” Her voice was filled with desperation, and nervousness, than the usual relaxed and cheerful tone. Raynor could even detect a scent of worry or fear.

“The Zerg have brought their hammer down on us, and the infantry can’t hold all of them back. I hope you are finished taking advantage of the diversion because I need backup.”

“We don’t need to fight there anymore, you can help us here, we’re facing a force sheltered by dark swarms, and we need Firebats to lessen the Hydralisks.”

“I can’t escape, and there are too many Zerg, they’ll catch up to us, and kill us!”

Raynor gave a worried sigh, “I’ll be sending reinforcements, and just hold on!”

He then turned to Sergeant Richard. He had come from a wealthy family, and was a decent fighter as well. His wit was what made him a great fighter, although he was not as great as General Hamlet or any professional tacticians. He wielded a Gauss rifle, a few grenades, and a pistol for combat.

“Sergeant Richard I am giving you the Honor of taking a force of Vultures, and a few Wraiths to reinforce Lieutenant Kerrigan and bring her back to base. You will be provided transports to rescue the remaining survivors.” Sergeant Richard saluted Raynor, and signaled a force of Vultures to his side. He signaled a troop transport jeep to follow his lead as he got onto a speeder bike. Richard raised his comlink, and ordered five Wraiths to fly behind him. The speed was considerable, and they zoomed away from Raynor’s view. He turned to hold off the deadly Zerg, and had his first doubts about not surviving this battle.

************************************************************************

As the Vultures, like horses sped up with Wraiths not close behind their tails, they tried to sneak by any Zerg that might detect them, but fortunately, for them, the Zerg were too occupied with their attack that they did not pay any attention to the force of rescuers. They were deep into the battle and were scaling much of the terrain. They maneuvered quickly past many obstacles, most of them boulders, and they saw the Zerg attack in view. The Firebats were panicking desperately to overcome the overwhelming numbers of Zerglings that surrounded them, while the Marines frantically rushed to attempt uninterrupted fire at the Hydralisks that advanced on them. There was even an Ultralisk tearing madly at any opposing units.

“Men, ready your Vultures, we’re going to charge into the fray,” He declared bravely, there were multiple screams of engines, while the Vultures barged in on the Zerglings, and in a hail of streaking Grenades, the Zerglings were mortally wounded as the Fragmentation Grenades pierced their Carapaces. There were stinging explosions, and they squealed as blood splattered, and had the loud sound of the explosions catch the attention of Hydralisks. They advanced forwards as Marines rushed back to take cover behind the new reinforcements. Some unfortunate marines were victims of the barrage of needles spines fired behind them. Sarah and a small force of ghosts cloaked, and rushed behind the Vultures, to take aim, and fire frantically. They rescued much of their battalion, but saw many of their army’s corpses on the ground.

“Sergeant Richard” Sarah seemed to recognize the man “I’m glad you’ve came to rescue us”

“We’re in a bit of a situation here, as you can notice,” Richard said ignoring the compliment; he was busy trying to ward off the Zerg that were advancing on his army.

Kerrigan silently took an extra step back, blasting at all the Zerg she could aim at. There was a moving mass of ripples in the air, as cloaked Ghosts stealthily moved back following Kerrigan’s lead.

“We can’t hold em!” a marine exclaimed, “We must get in the jeep now!” Kerrigan nodded in approval, as she dismissed the marine into the jeep, she and the other ghosts quickly entered the transports. Richard shifted his engines in reverse, and the other Vultures did the same, as they kept launching deadly Frag grenades keeping the Zerg steady. The transports roared, and the Wraiths swooped, down, and five laser shots startled the Zerg force, they had not expected air. The Zerg gave up their pursuit on the jeep, and the other vultures, but there were two hulking figures that followed them. A ghost raised a binocular and saw the figures were Ultralisks.

“The Ultralisks aren’t giving up sir,” he yelled over the roar of engine, as he stuck his head out the window. He had taken his helmet off, and his brown hair was flying in the wind. The Ultralisks started to gain on them, and Richard noticed this. He signaled a few Vultures to stop. They placed three spider mines, and as it clicked itself, and burrowed itself to the ground, Richard grinned. The Vultures moved back, and the Ultralisks charged full speed. Abruptly, the spider mines clicked, and whirred as it unburied itself, and in three massive explosions the Ultralisks had their Carapaces shattered, and blood oozed out of their damaged body parts. They still charged, although they were mortally wounded.

“Move back,” Richard, commanded, “Despite their conditions, we can’t kill em in one shot.” The Vultures that stayed behind with Richard sped away, and Richard did the same. He looked at the barren Terrain with the occasional boulders, and thick dirt in the ground, and found Raynor’s force in view. He grinned, “We’re almost there!” The Ultralisks took a sudden leap and its force crushed one of the jeeps, and it started stomping through the hard metal and started denting it. The other Ultralisk did the same, except it landed on a Vulture, knocking the pilot out cold. Yet Richard’s rescue force still sped on into the terrain. In a well-aimed shot from auto turrets, the Ultralisks lay dead on the jeep. And the other Ultralisks was too weak to move on. Richard skidded his Vulture to a stop in front of Raynor, while the other jeeps started unloading infantry. Richard saluted Raynor.

“Sir I bring you Lieutenant Kerrigan and Kerrigan gave Raynor a weak smile.

“You’re really tired, and you scraped your left arm on a boulder,” Raynor said frowning as he observed her injuries.

“I’m fine,” Sarah, said carelessly, Raynor nodded, though still slightly concerned about her condition, and shifted his gaze towards his attack. The dark swarm had disappeared, and Richard noticed that there were a considerable amount of Zerg gone compared to when he saw it last.

“Sir, I didn’t know that you killed so many Zerg in the time I was away,” Richard said, his eyes wide in shock.

“I did slaughter a number of Zerg, but not as many as they disappeared. Just half of the whole mass army just vanished for some reason, and our Comsat stations prove that there are no burrowed Zerg, even after a few through scanner sweeps.” Raynor said frowning, “I’m pushing our attack force closer to the hive taking advantage of this unit loss.” Sarah nodded,

“I’ll try to do what I can Jim,” she raised her rifle,

“Sir,” A Siege Tank mechanic walked up to him, “The artillery on the Arclite Shock cannons are extremely overheated, it’ll take awhile for it to cool down, and start working again.”

“Well we can’t rely on them now can we? Send in Goliaths for now, the Zerg force should be easy to deal with.”

As on cue, the Goliaths walked thunk, thunk on the ground as they positioned their gleaming barrels towards the attacking Hydralisks, they fired rapidly, as the rattling sounds again filled the air, and the Hydralisks themselves found them being impaled by needles. They were covered in blood as the lighting-speed bullets pierced their Carapaces, and had huge gashes in their skin, with spluttering blood.

The newly rescued infantry was told to join the fray, as they ran in, to meet their fate with the Zerglings. The Zerglings like dogs, sniffed danger, and a small force of them leapt at the infantry. The Firebats sprayed red-hot flames at the Zerglings, and several were caught in the barbeque, as the raging storm of heat smoldered them, and burnt them into a crisp.

Hastily, the Firebats paused to shift their petroleum tanks, and replace it with a fresher one to supply more fuel to their flamethrowers. Some more Zergling reinforcements arrived, but the marines, charged in, shooting furiously, as a storm of bullets whizzed into their skull, and a gruesome burst of blood erupted, as the rifles were aimed at their skull.

Soon there wasn’t a Zerg (beside the dead corpses) in the battlefield. The purple, net creep around them started disappearing, as parts of the creep were drawn back to where the Zerg structures remained. Hundreds of Zerg corpses littered the ground, and a pool of blood lay where they died. There were fires, where Siege tanks had been blown up, along with a piece of melted metal with frayed cords. Guns lay thrust into the ground like javelins, while smoke billowed from broken machinery. Raynor also noticed that his numbers of his troops were dwindling.

“We should call for reinforcements,” suggested Sarah,

“Why bother?” Questioned Raynor, “All there is, is a few sunken colonies, and a few spore colonies, I doubt we’ll need any of the reinforcements”

“Ok,” Sarah said uneasily, “but I have a bad feeling about this,”

“Hey cheer up;” said Raynor with extreme confidence, “What can possibly go wrong?”

“Sir might I suggest we continue with the mission?” Richard said eagerly, Raynor nodded,

“We’ll need to charge the Sunkens seeing the condition that our Tanks are in.” The Goliath walkers flanked by Infantry rushed up to a pair of Sunkens that stood in the way of the hive. The Firebats circled one of them, firing madly, along with the marines that stood in range. Vultures and Goliaths assailed the other.

The overwhelmed sunken colonies blindly raised a tentacle, to retaliate, but it missed, and that was the only shot it got before it exploded. A few Zerglings unburrowed, but Raynor inserted a fresh clip in his gauss rifle, and picked them out one by one. Now Raynor grinned triumphantly as his force approached the Hive like ants swarming a nest. Just then, a roar of ear piercing screeches was heard around Raynor’s attack force. From both left and right Zerg forces leaped upon Raynor’s imprudent forces. Many startled marines were ripped open, while Goliaths were taken aback by the sudden barrage of needles, which pierced the glass, and killed the pilot in the cockpit.

Raynor gulped, as his force was slowly ripped apart by various Zerg units, and the sudden attack that he failed to predict. The Zerg planned this all along. Before the effects of the Dark Swarm wore out, many of the Zerg in the base, and in the defense point had run a far ways from here, and when a scout overlord detected the approximate coordinates of his units, the Zerg had rushed into ambush the attackers. The siege tanks quickly decided to fire normal Arclite cannons, and several Hydralisks were blasted open, Goliaths, and Vultures, moved back, and in a hail of bullets, and grenades, a line of Zerg attackers, fell face first into the ground.

The retaliation had been slow though, the Zerg surrounded small forces of units like a few pairs of Firebats, that were swarmed as Zerglings leaped upon them, and their flamethrowers destroyed few. A dozen marines were surrounded by Hydralisks raising their scythes to impale these Marines. Heavy Artillery units was amassed by several Ultralisks; The Siege Tanks were able to blast away a few Ultralisks, but the scythe like Kaiser Blades of the Ultralisks delivered a crushing blow to many of Raynor’s siege tanks. Taking advantage of this distraction, a squad of Lurkers quickly scuttled into the center, and burrowed in a crunching sound. A star of spines erupted, and took more of Raynor’s infantry by surprise. The chaos, the demolition, all was lethal. He uselessly fired, barely making a difference, and everything looked like everything was in vain. Even in this dark storm of tide, there was an approaching dawn, a light of hope, when Raynor saw a shadowing Terran army slowly approaching his force. The only problem was, they weren’t from Mar Sara.

Well, you're welcome to the '1-3' word review.

Alright, I could've swore I've seen this somewhere on starcraft.org. Are you the same smasher from that organization?

Hey, I bet you this is the story you're going to submit in the FAN FICTION contest? If you are, then, well...techinally you've just took first place from KAME. Well, now you're up for the 100 mineral prize.

Yep I'm from Starcraft.org how did you know? Actually I'm really unfamous there due to other people who are pwining me with their "Eight Year experience" of Sc. Fan writing. In fact I might post the sequel to this chapter for the fiction writing contest. you'll be the first person to be able to read it, because I ususally postpone my submissions on Starcraft.org.
