Go to the download database (here) and find PROEdit.

You may not have the required files, which we host by the way.

You just heard that from the maker of Proedit and from the Producer.
Lol, Yoshi is a producer!

Yoshi's a producer? O.O

I trust SCM Protector (Which, ironically, is a chk protector) more then ProEdit. I don't know if they have that here, but they do have it at the (U) site. There's a link in the Clan (U) forums area.

We do have it here, and SCM protector isn't save. Its vunerable to SCU.

censored.gif ................

I don't care if that was spam -_- I'm pissed !

Oh sorry, we dont have SCM protector afterall because its useless. BTW, they're all chk protectors. PROEdit just extracts it automatically, because its better.

Don't you feel stupid today?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SaLaCiouS(U) on 2004-07-28 at 22:10:16
Not as much you'd think after that second post. You said you have it but you don't, so who's to say you were right about it being vulnerable to SCU? In fact I seem to remember the reason I got it in the first place was because SCU CAN'T break through it's protection. PROEdit on the other hand sounds glitchy and deadly against my poor strings. Muahahah... Besides, I never said I thought it protected the file as a SCM, I just said the name was ironic. None of the other protectors included "CHK Protector" in their name.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Yoshi da Sniper on 2004-07-28 at 22:33:52
They can't protect SCX and SCM anyway. All protectors and editors MUST use chk.

SCX and SCM are like a zip or rar file for the actual map, which is CHK.

Anyways, please can post a test map protected with SCM protect, and I'll break it here (just to show you).

Ok here's a test

EDIT: My map making skill is set to advanced for a reason, you don't have to explain stuff like that to me. I already know.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Yoshi da Sniper on 2004-07-28 at 23:59:28
That isn't a protected map. Plus its insulting.

-_-;; -_-;; -_-;; -_-;; -_-;; -_-;;

In my arrogance I put that in there under the assumption that you would never be able to unprotect it.... except then I forgot to protect it..................

I'm reposting it now...........

NOTE: This topic should be closed to prevent further messages and spam such as my post! Seeing as I'm no longer staff here.. I can only whine!!!

I don't get why people protect maps. To protect copyrighted sounds? To protect "secret material" that they should be sharing to the community? Or to protect themselves from someone changing:

I like to open unlocked maps to see how they did this or that, or to even edit them to my liking. Sometimes it comes out better if a person edits it, and other times a person can make it look idiotic, but there is always the original.

the better question to ask is do you want to dl a 600 kilobyte map everytime you join a ums game?

PROEdit reduces filesize, and is the best protector. That togi stuff... I have no clue what it is, but PROEdit is still the best. Most other protectors can be unprotected, but PROEdit is the only safe protector in my mind.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Clokr_ on 2004-07-29 at 14:59:13
Yeah, PROEdit is safe now, I'm not sure if it will be safe in the near future, but it is the safest and will continue being the safest. Also, if someone makes a guide explaining how to unprotect it, its not really easy, so I don't think that some noobs could do it.

I wouldn't trust proedit, and there IS a guide I accidently stumbled apon showing how to break into it in 4 Easy steps.
