Call me stupid, but is there any way to "cut" .wav files using sound recorder, or do I need to download another .wav editor?

www.downloads.com for all your wav cutting needs. I forgot what the program was called, but try searching wav splitting or something wink.gif

You can cut them with Sound Recorder. You just use the "delete before this point" and "delete after this point" actions in one of the menus at the top.

Windows needs a crappy hex editor tongue.gif
But yes, I use notepad+paint+soundrecorder a lot. They are crappy, but are fast, don't use too much comp resources and you can make nice things with them.

I use them all the time. They're not crappy, but rather very basic. But you don't need fancy features when you're working on a StarCraft map. They certainly don't obfuscate the map-making process.

I typically don't mess with Windows systems or programs (except at work), but I agree with you guys. The simpler the program, the better. You don't need SuperUltraMegaWaveEditor2004X v.95 to edit sounds, nor do you need NinponSuperiorDeluxeWordPerfectX Special Edition 9.0 to type up some simple text. Two thumbs up to everyone who realizes that simple programs for simple tasks is the way to go. biggrin.gif
