Here's the deal, my virus scanner says the virus in question is in my "Temporary Internet Files" folder, but after telling me this, it fails to find it and "clean it up". Searching through the Temporary Internet Files folder, there is no file by that name, BUT, if I can view the file in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer! So it must be there, just hiding itself or something.
If I just delete the whole "Temporary Internet Files" folder, it does me no harm, correct? It's just cookies and the like, nothing essential, right?

Many files are hidden, much more than are visible by default. The way to see more files is:
☼
Open My Computer
☼On the taskbar, click Tools
☼A menu will appear. Pick Folder Options...
☼Click the View tab.
☼Under Hidden Files and Folders, move the bullet to select Show hidden files and folders
☼Click Apply and OK and you will be able to view the files which could be hidden. If you still can't figure it out, reply here and I will give you several tools to removing viruses aside from your generic spyware removers which many will suggest.
