The game is similar to dance dance revolution. Where you are supposed to mimic the moves (create the unit) at a specific time and area, Hence hand eye cordination tongue.gif

Units are send down your lane, and you must create the exact same unit when it reaches the designated area. You gotta have good hand eye cordination to get a perfect score (like rubbing your tummy, patting your head then changing hands)
the units vary from the units from the stargate and gateway.
You can select the difficulty from easy to hard.
Suggested players 1-4.
The game is quite fast, about 1-2 mins long. smile.gif Have fun

Link doesn't work.

Once you can get a working link, I'd like to give this a shot. I admit, I hate Dance Dance Revolution with a passion, and frequently rip into the fat sweaty nerds who drop $20 a day on it at the arcade. However, I haven't seen anything like this map before, and I'm always up for trying new things. Get the link working!

I have, though not with music.

sorry about that disgust.gif , i thought that link was working...
thats why i wanted staredit to host it (but i guess they cant since i just read the front page)

ok... lets see if this works... smile.gif

oh yeah... the link is only allowed 25 downloads or 7 days sad.gif

Btw, the music in the game is a bit off because i had to chop it up to reduce the size.

if you dont really notice the lil breaks, the song runs smoothly

Hotkey revolution: butterfly mix.
Have fun

Sounds interesting, based on a well played arcade, so it should do well if it gets a good audience online, and isn't too hard to understand, play and works fast enough not to be too easy, or in fact crayz hard!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Cokymonster on 2004-07-30 at 04:41:13
well it depends tongue.gif
start out on easy to get the grove, then work up to normal --> hard
or challenge yourself on normal + invisible or hard + invisible.
I was going to put in 'Finger Spasm' Mode, but i think hard was good enough tongue.gif

oh yeah, i can never host any games on bnet cause of my firewall, nor do i want to open a port. Cant trust the net nowadays, so i can't spread my maps out. Oh well O.o...

Cokymonster, can I use this idea to make something a little more serious with bonuses, effects and different modes?

And if the answer is yes, how should I credit you? Thanks!

DDR isnt just in the arcades tongue.gif

ya np. The triggering system is very easy so im pretty sure you can do it.

Im making another hotkey revolution map. This one is only 2 players though. Its about 3-4 megs because of the music (yes this has a bpm of 170) so it will be very fast and hard, even on normal mode tongue.gif

The 2 player system will have a bar which will go back and forth displaying your "groove" meter. The more mistakes you make, the more you lose. The more you get right, the more you gain.

This version will have a terran barrack, factory and protoss gateway, starport.
Time for a finger spasm (and finally i can send the file to webmasters happy.gif )

K, thanks for allowing me to use it. Good luck with your map too...

I think that if I really make a map with this idea I will throw in alot of songs untill the map is about 10MB, I dont care that it wont spread on battle.net, it will be great for staredit map night tongue.gif

Maximum online is 6 MB file, anything higher will not be downloaded, however, playing it with those having it, not sure if it does or doesn't work.

Credit could be in the Mission Briefing as thats what most do, or in the Sceniaro Page. Thats where i put mine, good to see people sharing ideas!

I don't like the map because the units arn't instant making it harder to time the units, expecially the faster ones.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by EvilDrone(U) on 2004-07-30 at 18:19:16
You could make the units build faster by using starforge and setting the time to 1 it will be faster than 1 on sc-xtra (1 on sc-xtra is 15 on staredit..).

You could use the dropship method, but i'm going to assume you already know that and opted for the building system for some reason I don't know. I'll try this when I get to a comp with sc, which'll be tomorrow.

hey thanx, didnt know there was a difference with timing on SF.
Sometimes SF crashes on me which i hate when i edit the units values, but it could be better if i did it anyways tongue.gif

well, there reason why i didnt want to do the dropship method is that all that requires is simple clicking.
I made the map to see if you can actually process the information fast enough, hence DDR.
but this method you still get fat sitting on your chair happy.gif .

I will redit the map on SF and see the difference. If its a dramatic change by a few milliseconds, i could change the map.

ps: I never noticed that i didnt place a v1.0 tongue.gif but oh well

Hotkey Revolution: Butterfly mix. Version Final, Final again, Last final, Finally final!

Edit: While they are checking if i stole this map idea from anybody blushing.gif
you can download it here. I used starforge to change the values of the units to be made instantly.

Have fun, and if you get a score above 2000 on Hard, Invisible... you've been playing too much w00t.gif
