Staredit Network -> StarForge -> Map filesize
Report, edit, etc...Posted by xenomat on 2006-07-13 at 10:49:05
Hi

Sorry, i searched, i read the FAQ, but nobody seems to know the problem. If i edit and save my maps with StarForge, the size of the file is like 3 times normal (330kb -> 980kb), and i don't see why! Is this a setting-thing? All the Help buttons in StarForge don't work, otherwise i would have looked there also...

Did you set it to compress the map?
but if you cant do that, then save it as a raw chk. file,
then open up SCMD (because this is the only other program that can read ALL of SF's files) and save the map at high compression. Its the best i could think of for a 10 year old *Applause*

Or protect it with Uber@tion. That compresses the map somewhat.

When i protect the map with uberation, it will display some of my trigger comments on screen instead of other text messages... oO Don't ask me why.

Where is this option located? StarForge won't let me open any help or properties. :/
I try it with SCMD, thanks.

ADDITION:
Well.. Uber@tion still messes up my Map, regardless what type of compression i use. And i can't find compression in StarForge.

How do you protect your Maps?

Well, if uber@tion doesn't work for you, you can use the old protectors, such as Proedit, Guedit, etc...
