Ok I've been looking for sweet wav files but I had trouble for quite a few years now. I noticed tat some people have been getting some of their files from editing already gotten songs and everything. Is there a way to transfer movie sound effects to the wav file, and is there a way to edit songs, and get some sounds from video games? \

Anyway does anyone know any good files, and any good sites to get wav files?

You'd need permission to do that first...

Also, wouldn't you need an unprotector to get the music? =/

What I do when i need a certain WAV is I use my mic to record it on sound recorder, that way I don't need to find the actual WAV version of it, i just need to TURN it into a waV! yay! biggrin.gif Then I edit it with another program to get rid of fuzz and stuff from recording :3

www.acoustica.com
Download Mixcraft

I use Mixcraft to make loops, as its easy to use, and has some good effects and EQ control. You can also choose which type of sound file to save it from.

I think there is a free version you can download. Sorry if this was of little help.

For wav editing, I would suggest Audacity, it works and is free.

Itunes can convert most formats of music into other formats.

Can't help you with ripping music from games.

Well, If you have your movie sound effects, are they .wav? If they are, use Sound Recorder and Insert the sound effects into a wav that u want to make.

the problem with recording first party sounds is that the quality drops alot. there are a few good sites with free sound effects, but most of the high quality sounds are difficult to obtain without payment.

so do you have to use a program with a mike to record cool sounds?

im a musician, and i record my songs through a microphone and high quality sound card, but id still recommend gaining first party sounds instead of recording them. the quality difference really does stand out. if you want some nice music loops, message me, informing me of what type of music you want, how long you want it and what quality/memory you are looking for.

Ironically, you should get permission to take sound from an "actual" game such as Half-Life. (even though that's pretty much impossible)
Yet, you shouldn't even think twice (or once for some of you =p) about taking sound from a map. The vast majority of sounds in maps don't even belong to the map maker.
