Well, for an unknown reason my computer has completely stopped displaying the red colour channel, needless to say this has been pissing me off and since I can't play Diablo II without getting angry at the colours I've spent the past two days trying to fix it, and ghetto overclocking it.

Things I've tried.

* Buying a new VGA cable. That's not it.
* Switching monitors, again, didn't work.
* Jiggling the cords.
* Hammer.
* Cracknig open the case and checking the video card. It looks fine.
* Adjusting my TV contrast to cpmensate. Didn't work.
* Going into my video card's colour settings and toying with them. No luck there.

Note that it's not just while the computer is online, the BIOS and startup sequences also don't display red.

*Syphon resists putting the help smily down.

Anyway, I need some ideas.

get a new graphics card. Unless the computer has a nice graphics card its worth it. Get some crap like a geforce4 64mb vram off ebay.

Thats what u get for buying alienware. ;p If it doesnt display red in the bios that cant be good...... You have 3 choices.

1) try reinstalling your graphics driver.

2)you can try taking the video card out and putting it back in. Sometimes that helps.

3)reformat.

Yes, I've tried that.

I might try reinstalling graphics drivers tomorrow, then I'll go for a reformat.

Well you could try doing a system restore going back before it started doing that, if you don't mind losing some information.

Might want to try using the drivers on the CD that came with your computer, rather than the ones ont he internet.

It sounds like your video card is gone, I think.. might want to investigate on your own, though..

I have a 9550 too sad.gif
