First attempt at using it: I shouted, but it wouldn't show it. The refresh button wouldn't work.
Second attempt at using it: I shouted, which worked fine. I shouted again, which made it turn black. Refreshing the page made it look just like it was when I first opened it up.

No. It's shorthand, if it were an acronym it'd be AJX. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ajax_%28programming%29
Note the part that says it's Ajax, not AJAX.

Although... it seems both ways of spelling are accepted, just based on what I saw while googling..

Your page is just a shoutbox only. Why on earth would it need to be AJAX? So it reloads that part of the page and keeps.... what?
