Here, I'll vote dial-up. I have a very good connection, the only time it lags is when the connection stops talking. I can still listen to music and play starcraft and have a good game. Dial-up is nothing to be ashamed of.

My friend had T1 in his house.. for free. .. or was it T3? I can't remember.I have cable.
But then he moved to Pennsylvania and lost it.

If you are asking why it was for free, I heard his dad did something for a company that provided it and got it as a result.

Well... if you can get it for free, then lucky you, but otherwise there would be no real use to it, because it's only real upside comes when you are using multiple computers

There is a guy at my school who is a Counter Strike-aholic and his clan is sponsered by some company and he gets free T1 connectoin as well.
I don't think even rich people need T3 connections, it is a waste of money, do you really want to spend $7500-$14000 per month on a connection that you don't need? So many servers that you download from won't even go that fast so there really is no point if you don't have a large network and is only for private use.
Cable is good enough for me.
