How do you record clips in starcraft, what program would i have to download?

Do you mean video clips or audio clips?
Audio you can get with just a free sound editor like audacity with the recording source set to stereo output. If you have a bad soundcard it'll sound horrible, but if you have a nice one it'll sound exactly the same.
If you want video, there's some programs in the DLDB, but I'm not sure if they'd be of any use.

The Fraps program is for FPS playing. I've tried it for other types of games and it didin't seem to work.

You can get the SC cinematics in SMK format from SC CD and then using RADtools convert them to video..
I could get some for you if u want ;)
Btw, i downloaded Cam studio from a link i found in google, and when it records SC the menius are messed up, and ingame is just black screen with flickering white dots..

cool could you tell me how to do it in more detail... i tried looking inside the cd but didnt find the exact cinematics file, are you talking about brood or the regular sc?

Both. just set winMPQ to filter *.smk and u will find them :) Then extract them to somewhere, get RADtools ( i hope the one's they have at SC.org work)
There will be tons of files, u have to open RADvideo.exe, select the file and choose convert. Then choose avi, and i don't remember what you have to do for sound i think you have to check "convert audio" or sth but i'm not sure.

But did u managed to record sth properly with that program?
Use filtering to show only smk files it is called Blizzard.smk in both bw and sc CDs and hsould be pretty obviuos.
