I was just wondering, because I decided the spells in my game, but I came over a few questions.
1) With the Renforcements spell, should it create the unit your spawning at the spawn locations or a certain unit (Like a marine)?
2) Should players be allowed to select which level they will use a spell?
3) Is the ability to freeze units and then use another spell that will kill all none frozen units and give you all frozen units, does that sound good? Like, is it worth the tatics?
Just answer if you can!
Also, here are some things in the game:
HEROS:
You get to select your hero, and I think they are evenly balanced
UNITS:
There are four different repeatively spawning units to choose from that level up over time. Each different one has four levels
SPELLS:
There is Burn, Freeze, Heal, and Reinforce. As I said above, Burn and Freeze can be used in a combo. Like, you can freeze yours and your enemies units, then burn them free on your side.
TERRAIN:
This game is like Golem Wars in the way that units spawn and then there is a mass attack and all of that, but in Warlords, there are mountains and rivers the players will have to use as their advantage!
UNIT HERDING:
This is a forgotten thing in SC, but it can be done. Units can be attacked and they will run away right? Well, what if you could herd certain units to your base and get money for it? That is the point of Units Herding! I don't have it in yet, but it should add some tactics to the game!
ITEMS:
Of course, with every Hero game, there are items. People can also buy two special unts.

Create the unit you are spawning

I don't really know what you mean.

Are you saying that you could use a spell to give P12 units to you? I don't think that you should do that, because if there was a battle between 3 players and you freeze some of the units from your two enemies, one of them could get P12 units and have more units than they started out with.
If it's a mass attack game you should really make it spawn at the location, it makes more sense that way. Freeze doesn't look like a good ability unless you have a pretty good range. You should have more spells and to make each warlord unique so it has a better and more original feel to it. I don't know about unit herding, it's ussually used in different types of games, like zerg soccer but if you can make it work fine then go for it.
What is happening in this forum????
I have no idea what kind of map you are making!!!!
All I've managed to gather is that it is a masser of some sort....
It is a mass attack game, like Zergling Blood or Golems, but it has some major differences I hope that will make for fun gameplay. For instance, the terrain surrounding everything is hills and rivers and stuff like that. Also, the mass attack system is using a dropship and an observer (Because it is complicated to make it go towards bases placed just about everywhere.) Also, each player has a hero (called a Warlord) who can cast spells. When the Warlord dies, the game ends for that player. This means that a play could lose all the spawn points they own and still continue fighting.
I am putting unit herding in to see if people will find the game different or easier for them, but I bet people wont know until they get random minerals from an idiotic animal just walking into their base and giving them points.
On the reinforcement spell, I'm going to change it to Summon, so that way it can only be one unit that magically appears near the warlord. It is easier for me and I think easier for gamers too.
All I have left to do is Mass Attacking, the Fire Spell, Items, and a Mission Briefing. Not too much left, and I could have it done by the end of today, but I need to do some other things, so this probably wont come out for a week. Plus, I want to make sure I didn't miss anything important. Oddly, that reminds me I still have to do taking over bases. Still, not as much as I have already done!
I can't wait to release it, because it is the biggest mapping project I have ever done. Sadly, this is not my most creative. When I made the Tower Defence (Which I lost...Someone must have it somewhere), I had to think up a way to let people gain control of "towers" without actually going near them, because I loaded them with marines! That game took forever, but it was one hell of a blast to play after I taugh people how to! Maybe after I get this map finished I will remake that to show you all what it was. I don't think anyone could have made a more original map than that!
Things left to do:
- Items
- Mission Briefing
- Taking Control of a Spawn Point
The Closer I get to finishing this, the more excited I get. I want to play this map horrible, just to see if everything work right! Also, I found my maps will always be more fun that someone elses, just because I made it myself! Unless it is truely crap...
Hmm we will see when it's fully finished.
You've been posting about this map for awhile already. Let's get going.

Herding Units will be in Version 1.2, which is the version after I fix MAJOR bugs. All I have left is the Mission Breifing, everything else is ready...I think. I'll post one last time and ask for responds after.
Added: Just a few more things.... MB Done
I THINK everything required for a newb to play this map is in, and I know that the MB is done. It should work fine, so, enjoy it, I guess. Like I said above, Unit Herding will be added in Version 1.2. For now, Please look for major bugs, because my computer is broken, and I can't find them...
