Here is the recipe for one hell of a smoke bomb!
40% parts sugar
60% parts potassium nitrate (Salt Peter)
Make as much as you want, just keep the porportions the same.
Heat this mixture over a LOW flame until it melts, stirring well. Pour it into a future container and, before it solidifies, imbed a few matches into the mixture to use as fuses. One pound of this stuff will fill up a whole block with thick, white smoke!

I have tried this, too. I wasted all my KNO3 trying to get it to work properly; which was never. I still have a can of it in my closet.

Hehe, you just have to lit it when you've crushed it actually, it makes a pretty nice smoke actually, I've tried it
