, hey everyone, for my mod which I havent made a topic for yet, I need the grp files of units and buildings from the stardat, but I keep getting an error when I try to open the pallet using retrogrp, oh and nirvanjun Ive figured out how to compile the ral into grp, thanks for the thread(where ever it is)
Do you have the default palette files in the RetroGRP directory?
there are included some pal files when get RetrGRP zip file and extract
but they pal files are saved as starcraft format
so if u'd like 2 edit images with use photoshop, GIMP or etc...
u have to convert as to microsoft pal format with PalEdit
Here's the steps I use, if you follow these and still get the error then please tell me what it says.
1. click on 'Load External File' and select your grp you want to edit, you most likely will have to browse around some.
2. click on 'Load Pallet' and choose a default pallet that came with RetroGRP and makes the grp look normal,
if it's edited/corrupted or re-encrypted it will cause problems
3. click on 'Write Out BMPs', then click on 'All Bitmaps'
If the default pallete is not corrupted and RetroGRP STILL doesn't work, try 'reset
locations' button.
honestly, i don't think wat it's need tutorials and something
just folllow step by step in Retro's layout which from top to bottom
